Rumsfeld flees France fearing arrest!

Again, that doesn't change the fact that we have horrible relations with the rest of the world and the United States' former secretary of defense would be charged as a war criminal. Do you really think if Rummy were arrested and neither Bush nor Sarkozy (both of whom have a reputation for being stubborn) would back down that military action would not be a possibility?

Sarkozy would never let it get to that point. As bad as relations are between the US and others, neither country would allow it to deteriorate to that point.

Don't underestimate the arrogance or the stubborness of either leader.

so, who's betting on France getting nuked?

About ****ing time someone holds these bastards accountable for what they've done.

Indeed.They fear France's power.:trans:

Why was he in France anyway? I thought we hated the frog lovers even more than we hate the towel heads.

Bush brainwashed America into hating France because..well,France has everything America doesn't.A longer live span for it's people, univeral healthcare,a high standard of living..and they have vacation time.

Actually,America is the one that might get nuked.Since it's pissing off the whole world.

If only they could capture Bush...

I'd gladly cough the money to see that on payperview, with the Beach Boys' "wouldn't it be nice" for background music

LOL...I love that song! :)

But could you imagine if this arrest was able to take place? What repercussions would follow? Would this be considered an act of war? I wouldn't put it past this administration to declare it as such, but is it?

G-d, I wished it would have happened cause Freedom Fries would have been back with a vengeance (and this time, this time, it ain't goin' nowhere!)

If Bush went to War over Rumsfeld that would have to be the dumbest thing he ever done.

Who gives 2 ****s what the French think. If they want to arrest an American citizen, let them come over here and get him.......

I'm not campaigning for the mans' innocence but if the French court system wants to accuse an American citizen and hold him accountable for his "actions" then MAN UP and come over and get him so he can face French Justice......if not...shut your yapper.....

How about you shut your yapper and read the damn article. French authorities brought charges against Rumsfeld while he was on French soil. He was then whisked away to Germany. So, he's not on the soil of the U.S., he's still in Europe. And French authorities can pursue him into Germany.

then the French should go for it.....if they can catch him, then good for them.....prosecute him untill he turns blue....but once he returns to the US, if the French don't get him before then....I dare the French to come over and try and take him....

Well, if the French decide to come over and get Rumsfeld if he returns stateside, I won't stand in their way.

the french wouldnt do it .. they just want us to know they thought about it.

exactly...they will charge him in absentia.....which means he wont be in court but they will hold the proceedings anyway....

He wouldn't have to wait on Bush, Sarkozy would have him out in minutes.....
