LOL.......along those same lines...I always think Brando is chewing gum in that scene.
People said that about Nicholson's Joker and public consensus seems to disagree with that now, so never say never. Honestly, as classic as Brando's Jor-El was, I grew up with STAS and Lois&Clark and it does not strike the same chord with me. I think childhood nolstalgia plays a large part in whether something is "iconic" or "irreplaceable".

just cause there are no new pix in here of Crowe as Jor-El a.k.a. Super-Daddy![]()
will Crowe play this role in a sequel?. I can't recall him ever being in one. I agree he is well cast in this role. looking forward to his battle against Shannon. Would have loved for his character to somehow live on.
If the direction is simular to STM, I would guess he could be in future sequels as the Fortress of Solitude's hologram.
As much as I am looking forward to Crowe as Jor-El and I think he will be the definitive portrayal of the character for me, I'd prefer they don't go the STM route. I'd rather Jor-El's hologram as seen in the Comic-Con trailer simply be a single pre-recorded message. It would make the most sense given the interview hints about Kal-El being conflicted regarding Zod and company and how he has no one else from whom he can learn about Krypton. I don't like interpretations like STM or Smallville where Superman can constantly go back to an omnipotent AI version of his father for advice.
love the story where Crowe gave a 16 year old Cavill advice on acting and actually went to the trouble of sending the unknown youngster gifts in the mail. Great how it has come full circle with Cavill about to launch into the acting stratosphere with Crowe playing a fatherly role in the same film.

Russell will do a nice job, BUT no one can fill Brando's white boots....![]()
Who the frack are all these "El's"?
Jim-El, Tra-El, Bran-El, Russ-El...ok, that one made me laugh. That and Jim-El. But that's it! No more El's
