Rza to direct the Man With The Iron Fist?

I'm just curious. Does anyone know what the hell is going on in this movie? Watching the trailers I have no ****ing idea.

looks like some kind of battle royale tournament type thing among a bunch of kung fu legends (within the context of the movie). kind of like a moral kombat deal.

Man this movie was bad. I tried so.hard to have fun with it but I just couldn't. His direction is incredibly amateur. The fight scenes were eh, the characters were blah and wow RZA is such an awful actor its not even funny. Ah its bad. 3/10

I liked it simply because I knew what I was going to get. I knew it wasn't going to blow me away and at times would probably feel amateurish. I have to give it up to the RZA for going and doing something he's passionate about.

This movie was awful. I regret seeing it. The action was cool but that's it. Some of the worst dialogue and acting I have ever heard and seen.

I for one thought it was a great movie. Lots of violence, hot Asian women, cheesy dialog and Lucy Liu (who I would still do). Down side, no boobies.

movie needed a center for the audience to really get behind, not random people that just spring into action every now and then. Real backstories ala Kill bill's evil circle.

KungFuHustle is a much better throw back.

I liked it. I knew what it was going to be though. It's a campy throwback to old Kung Fu movies. It's by no means a great film, but I was entertained enough.

I'm not trying to bust your balls or anything, but if he types it out, it is his opinion. Writing "my opinion" is redundant.

If you come into it with the mindset of expecting a throwback/homage to cheesily-dubbed kung-fu movies from the 1970s, then it's fun. RZA is a decent action director, but some could be better staged and edited in places but it's not a bad directorial debut.

Don't come in expecting something new to the table, or a great film either.

This movie was not in the least bit coherent. It was all over the place. RZA was an awful actor. He was so stiff and numb in all of his scenes...and that was the character the audience was supposed to get behind.

I understand it was sort of a throwback but you can't just dip your foot into the water and say you went swimming. He should have either dubbed this entire movie or subtitled it or he should have did like QT did in Kill Bill and class it up while still paying homage to the genre you love. It felt like RZA couldn't find his style in this movie and so there are so many different genres pulling this movie apart. It made it feel disjointed and as mentioned above, not in the slightest coherent. There were way too many things going on and way too many characters. When the hooded man revealed himself...I didn't even remember who the fug he was. The explanation between him and Crowe's character is that they had a past. WTF

I don't know why anyone would go into this expecting a masterpiece considering it was written and directed by RZA, a guy with zero experience producing a film of this magnitude.

I enjoyed the movie a lot because I knew exactly what I was getting, and what I wanted. Some cool fight scenes and hot girls with campy footage and corny dialogue that I could privately make fun of. I didnt expect the movie to be good at all, just entertaining, and it was. It was a cheap imitation of the old kung-fu films which were almost as cheesy, but that was part of its charm.

RZA's acting was horrible, but again, what do you really expect. And Russell Crowe alone made the movie worthwhile, he was awesome in every millisecond of screentime he had.

Really tried to like it but this flicks a mess. Dug some of the fights but as a whole its got alot of problems. Russel Crowe was awesome though. Too bad they didnt lead into him being as crazy as he acts in his intro. Character had alot of possibilities.

So, didnt hate it but didnt really like it either. Just kinda meh. Ive seen worse. At least its trying to have fun.

That's like saying that you know a restaurant is terrible so when you get terrible food you knew it was coming. Why eat there in the first place? I did not know it was a terrible restaurant and I won't be going back.

I'm really only curious about two things in this movie.

How was Russell Crowe? I've heard his performance was the best thing about it.

Is there any girl-on-girl action? The preview made it look like there might be, but it was so fast I couldn't tell.
