Nolan has stated that batman will have a negative view from the public. What if a group of thugs like in DKR form the S.O.B's making Batman unpopular to the public? It would go with Nolan's things have to get worse before they can get better thing.

Unpopular? Superman is popular, that's truth. But if we are talking about Batman, then no.

If he protects Gotham, it doesn't make him popular.

In Brton's movies it was so, but also in Burton's movies there were too much flaws.

The main thing in Nolan's Batman isn't popularity.

I think there will be something another. Maybe Gotham will start having worser atmosphere of crime or anything else.

But popularity will mean nothing in the movie.

but, do you think S.O.B thing would fit into it?

I think its safe to assume that it´s way too early to bring in anything like S.O.B.

No, because that's Frank Miller's Batman. Nolan is not adapting Miller's Batman. He is adapting Loeb's Batman. So, no, Sons of Batman. Tim Burton was more likely to do that then Nolan.

Nolan was so using Miller's elements in BB man. Even if he wasn't adapting directly from Miller's works, if he can use one element he can use another one.

besides he's already said he's going to be taken elements from miller's dark knights book.

I don't think it will happen, no. The story will probably be complicated enough already with all the new characters that are likely to appear.

More likely, the Public will believe Batman responsible for the Joker and any other 'supervillains' that pop up in Gotham.

*nods* I think that's the way they'll go. It was addressed in TLH and that seems to be Nolan's blueprint for the trilogy.

And that's a good thing!:woot:

Regarding the S.O.B's, there is not a font size large enough to effectively give the correct form of 'NO' required.

What is the source for this? First time I heard of it.

If true, I would actually be easy to accept. The only thing the public really knows about Batman is what is said in the media.

I don't think the media is totally branding him a hero of the people even with the capture of Falcone. After the episode with the Gotham PD, Batman is probably seen somewhat of a menance and definitely a vigilante.

he's not adapting any specific Batman. to say he's not using any of Miller's stuff is ridiculous, as there's a healthy amount of Year One influence in Begins.

The Sons of the Batman were actually used in Sam Hamm's original draft of Batman Returns.

The character, however, is not as dark as Miller writes him - which is what he was getting at. Sure, he used a lot of ideas from Miller's work, but the character is much more similar to a Jeff Loeb Batman, which IMO, is a very very good thing.

Save major DKR plot elements for DKR, IMO. It may never happen, but at least if it does it won't be accused of repeating previous movies.

I don't know, Loeb's Batman always seems like a non-character to me.

he's the least interesting character in all Loeb's stories. now, if Harvey Dent is based on Loeb's characterizations, then we're in business, because Jeff crafted such a f**king great character there. but yeah, his Bats/Bruce are still kinda meh for me.
