DC Television Sandman: The Series

Finished it. Including the extra episode, and i can frankly say... The second Season was weaker then the first one. It was OK, but i found more then half of the episodes of the season... mostly boring. The first episode was very boring, IMO, the next 3 was much, much better, but after those episodes the season went down in quality and in keeping my interest. Now The extra episode with "Death" might be one of the best of the entire season, but overall it was a little bit disappointing. I think there were way too many chracters this season(Though the first season had a lot of them, too) and too many side plots.
However. I do appriciate the fact the manage to tell a whole story with a begining, middle and an end and give us a nice closing to the entire story.

BTW i have a question for the "Sandman"'s Comics readers - Were there any sex/race swap this season? I don't know why, but some of the charcters felt... wierd.

Technically it doesn't matter but Daniel. However it keeps it consistent with Hector Hall being black.

Mad Hattie was not supposed to be involved that way during the Kindly Ones storyline. Instead that role was supposed to be Dream's latest ex, Thessaly who did not appear in this show at all.

Wanda (driver on the first half) was the fusion of 2 characters.

Overall, not that many changes that actually matter. It was mostly rushed in some places and it could've benefit more from 2 seasons instead of 1. They should've done A Game of You and leave the Kindly Ones for a season 3.

Finished it and really loved it. The ending always made me sad and it was sad to say goodbye to Morpheus here too. Really liked Daniel and I liked the little added romance between Constantine and the Corinthian as well Loki and Puck. Death: The High Cost of Living was fun too but I liked season 1’s extra episodes more.

Anyway, it’s time to say goodbye to the Sandman again. I always thought a Sandman adaptation would probably fail to work for a thousand different reasons so the fact that they were to able to such a good job with the writing, the casting, everything, is nothing short of a miracle. I wish this show could’ve gone on longer and they could’ve spent more time on some of the stories but it is what it is. Heinberg has talked about a potential spinoff but I don’t know how likely that is. I would especially love one with Coleman’s Constantine but would love to see more of any of these characters.

Out of curiosity, which characters felt weird to you?

Loki and Puck are two. I didn't buy their relationship. Johanna, too. Maybe i just don't remember her bad luck with partners, that might have discussed in season 1(3 years did pass by since season 1), I also didn't like forcing a romatic relationship with the new Corinthian and her. Wanda is another one. Her whole character seems to me like a huge waste of time. I felt like she's been there just because she's trans. You want to give me a trans character? Make him/her/they actually important to the actual story and plot.
