They are airing this film right now on ABC Family. Damn...when I was a kid I used to LOVE this movie! Kids who grew up in the `90s had the Tim Allen movie but us kids in the `80s had this movie with Dudley Moore and that fat guy from Blazing Saddles. :woot:

But, let me tell ya something! The damn Salkinds really need to restore this movie. For a movie that was released in 1985 it looks like crap!

I have that movie on tape, but I've never seen it. I guess I'll watch it today just for you. :o

Jon Lithgow was pretty cool in that movie, i love when hes sucking on that candy cane laughing haha

Yeah, John Lithgow always plays a great villain. :)

I love this movie. It's such a pseudo SUPERMAN: THE MOVIE approach it's not funny. My favorite part is when all the toys start breaking.

I saw this movie as a kid and loved it. But I haven't rewatched it in years.

I saw this last Christmas Eve for the first time in a few years and actually bought it a few weeks ago, it was a huge fave as a kid, seeing this thread inspired me to watch it tonight. :D

John Lithgow just owns it, the scenery cowers as he chomps his way through every scene! :funny:

For a movie about Santa Clause he's hardly in it. I was always hoping for a origin story like the old holiday special about Santa clause...that was a epic storyline. With the war with the elves and rock monsters. That's the Santa Clause movie I want.

This classic poster reminds me of the old Star Wars and Legend ones in the 80's.

Love this movie since I was kid. Its required viewing by me every December or its not Christmas! I think David Huddelston is my all time favorite Santa.

Seeing is believing. Loved this movie as a kid. Very underrated Christmas movie.

Very underrated Christmas movie.

In the U.S. and Canada. In Europe it was a big hit. It grossed $125 million. That was good money in 1985. It's like $300 million now.
