For the first few years afterward, I tried to get in touch with him on a more regular basis. My calls were never returned, although he did actually pick up the line a few times. I spoke to Dotty maybe 3 years ago, and she said Vic (my dad) had become even more of a recluse. Also, I have a nephew (brother by adoption) named Aaron, who doesn't even know I exist, probably because Dad's never told him. He's 15 now, and whenever I asked Dad about telling him, his response was always "when he's ready". I called him a few days ago, but he hasn't called back, and 2 emails over as many months have gone unanswered. I'd love to have a steady relationship with my father, but it has to go both ways.

Thats really sad, sorry to hear that.

And Matt i pity you doing what you do, on new years eve, that'll be mad, but i'm sure its not your first new year running the bar so you'll know what to expect. But i hope you got good bouncers.

Hehe, I actually bounce for my own bar. Its not a club, it is a neighborhood bar. But I used to be an amateur boxer, so when customers get rowdy they don't usually give me too much trouble.

I have two children my son who is two is just starting to realise everything, who santa is, he's getting really excited, im not sure if he knowswhat christmas builds up to for him, but he's still really excited. My daughter who is 5 has alot more understanding on it coming home from school everyday excited to show me and her mum the songs she's learnt for the christmas nativity play. It's really a great time of year to have children.
