Saturday Night Fever....????

I know this is Superhero hype
Just picture John Travolta as the hero of dancing a Super hero of sorts for a moment.WHich he actually is but...Saturday Night Fever...????

Last Sunday I was browsing through the channels and I came upon Saturday Night Fever.I was like enghh Why Not?I hadn't seen it in I think more then 10 years.
And in the end once again somthing that always left me puzzeled even from when I was a kid.
It may not seem important.However I just don't know who to ask???
It's been bugging me for years .Years before their were blogs or the internet.So here goes.....

Okay remember in the end he goes to that girls house talking about he wants to change his life and what not.
And if you remember he tells her we can be just friends.

And then she takes his hand.
It end I think by her hugging him.

Does he get the girl or not?Or are they just friends?Or is it an ambiougoius ending?This has always left me without the ability to answer this question.

Help me out here guys....
