i was really hoping we'd get the joker/scarecrow chair bashing scene from knightfall, but i don't think we're getting it:(

Is that the one where he says "what other flavors do you got" after Scarecrow gasses him?

^ The most fascinating Batman villain hands down!

And I still think that Nolan, Murphy and the rest of the crew did the character justice. They took some liberties but the ending result was still amazing! The movie Scarecrow is so friggin' awesome!

He really is. My favorite aspect is that there's no detailing how he came around to doing what he does. He just does his thing, experimenting on the inmates of the Asylum (placing him as the director of the Asylum was also a nice touch) and throws out a few favors to the mob, without being afraid to crack a few skulls in between. Cillian Murphy delivered one helluva creepy performance.

I wanted more pathos from The Scarecrow. More motivation than simply "Power". At least an exploration about his perceived lack of power without the guise of The Scarecrow. Something between him and Batman other than "Taste of your own medicine, doctor"? A resentment, a hatred, something. Doug Moench always wrote the best Scarecrow.

He has crazy eyes. :wow: One of my favorite 'young' actors. The first time I saw BB, he scared the **** out of me when he puts on his mask the first time.

I agree. I think the character was perect IMO, and Murphy was awesome. Hopefully he will be just as good or better in TDK, even though he will have significantly less screen time.

^ Fucc yes. That's the potential Scarecrow has.

:yay: My theory
Scarecrow develops his latest invention, a gas, capable to make people laugh, literaly. Then The Joker kills him and getas the gas

If you don't like it then just comment

I know! I was so friggin' excited when he delivered the line "Would you like to see my mask? I use it in my experiments..."

I was just squirming in my seat! I was like "this is it! I'm gonna see my favourite comic book villain in all his glory!" And then the distorted voice kicked in and I had a total geekgasm! It was such a great moment!

I hope they give Murphy something cool to do in TDK. I know his role will be small but all I need is one badass scene.

I wouldn't want to see that for one or two reasons. The first is Scarecrow is all about fear, it's his main theme. He creates a hallucinogen that brings your worst fears to life. So why in the world would be bother with cooking up a laughing gas?

But secondly, it also takes away from the Joker. Mr J is very smart and very skilled, it would due better if he made his venom himself instead of simply stealing it from Scarecrow, not to mention, what's he going to do when there's no more venom and Crane is dead?

I must be watching another movie! Scarecrow just wasnt that good imo his cliched dialouge was one thing but reading that origin story up above makes him look even worse like Falcone in BB he was laughingly unthreatening in the comics he isnt adverse to just blowing someone away with a gun i also like the "crane techniqe" sometimes seen in the comics where he has a few moves of his own he is a true psycho in the comics but again he is to watered down for BB world. and i still dont like the GQ model looks of Murphy great actor though he was he wasnt scarecrow for me.

yeah i agree, but i think there was enough emphasis in the whole 'the power of the mind over the body' thing, and also how he was taken down by Dawes so cheesily, it makes sense though since it highlights his actual physical weakness as a character and his reliance on his hallucinogens and mask. i dont feel like his weakness was underplayed in BB but maybe too bold, i wish we saw him in his own more, perhaps a clip of him experimenting or gassing some of the inmates to find their reactions. hopefully we'll get some good scarecrow action in the dark knight and he wont be taken down without a fight.

oh, maybe crane hasnt recovered from his fear toxin experience and will see batman as he did in BB

I dont get that. whats the difference between someone stating their feelings Scarecrow wasnt that good to someone thinking he was great? apart from the fact you dont seem to like an opnion thats different to yours?

Everyone knows that if someone holds an opinion different than the majority here on the hype then they are obviously wrong, redundant, ignorant, and all other forms of utter wrongness.

What exactly wasn't that good about the Scarecrow? I thought he was portrayed brilliantly by Murphy. He was creepy, and powerful. They even incorporated his obsession with fear through his experiments on his inmates. They've got all the good stuff there. Let's remember he wasn't a main villain, Ra's was. There's only so much screen time you can provide him, especially in an origin story.
