Well, i have to admit he definitely didn't seem the least bit "scary" in his interpretation, but then again, neither did any of his villains in TLH or DV.

Okay so what does Scarecrow do in TDK? Does he have his own gang? I doubt it. We know he interacts with the Joker and it could may well involve fear gas/Joker venom considering his background.

there's another scooper, Spiral, who says Scarecrow does have a gang

* A gentleman I talked to told me that he saw Cillian Murphy on set, where he had just filmed. He was in full costume, (suit and carrying burlap mask), and had white powder on the shoulder of his suit (fear gas effect?) This man said that the Scarecrow has a gang, and that they are confronting the gang that I saw being filmed (I believe he said they were a European gang, Czech maybe? I can't remember fully).

There's so many possibilities as the joker have so many "born-story"

- Help/Create the "Joker" toxin and team up with Mister J (to follow Burton's first Batman and the " Red Hood " story)

- Teamup,try to control J by using his toxin without effect is suggests by Grant Morrison's graphic novel "Arkham Asylum" suggests

- Team up and then be killed is just a possible story line

- fight each other for the same thing because they want same things

There's so many possibilities as the joker have so many "born-story"

Maybe we'll see a flashback scene of Crane/Scarecrow "testing" his gas on the Joker ?

I stayed til almost 4am watching them film...

and guess what

SCARECROW GASSES BATMAN!!!

In this scene 2 gangs are fighting...then Scarecrow comes out of the back of the white van. After yelling at each other, gun shots are heard then everyone runs. Batman grabs Scarecrow and then He gasses batman. They did the same take over and over from different angles. It wasent bale tho...it was his double.

(I don't have any pics of the gas scene...it on a bad spot..and these pics didn't even turn out perfect. But take my word for it)

I'm really liking the sound of this.

Perhaps, rather than a simple Joker/Scarecrow team-up, "The Dark Knight" is going to be about gang war? Joker's gang, Maroni's gang, Scarecrow's gang, the European mobsters, some group that connects to Hong Kong. All battling each other for territory. It could be like, Falcone's gone, so everyone wants their piece of the Gotham pie.

I'll go for either the first or last option. I could see Scarecrow helping Joker create his Joker Venom, that's a feasible enough link, and it gives us a viable answer to the inevitable "Oh gee another bad guy with deadly gas" complaints.

If we don't get a Joker team-up, I could also see them being rivals, both battling for power in Gotham. However, even with this set-up, I see the two eventually deciding to join forces, even if it doesn't happen until the third film.

Whatever happens, I don't want Scarecrow to just show up to die.

Otherwise, what happens is.....Scarecrow has formed a gang but they're not really going anywhere. Maroni has them locked down. Then Joker comes in and starts bossing Scarecrow around about what he and 'his gang' are gonna be doing. Scarecrow is scared shiitless of the Joker and he becomes Jokers tool in the gang war. Rather than Scarecrow vs Joker vs Maroni Vs Europeans.
