I think the idea of the joker and the scarecrow fighting for the same thing sounds cool, however I would like to see the joker get gassed to give him more of a psychotic edge, since at the beginning of the film he is just a theatrical criminal.

I think Joker will end up killing crane though.

it is great to see the scarecrow is back. It seems he's lost his straight jacket. I hope that the affects of Crane being gassed and electrocuted in the face are still present. I'd be disappointed if he's back to "normal"

This is great. I thought the eniding of BB hinted that he would be back. The scene of Batman on the rooftop talking to Gordan. Gordan says "we still haven't picked up Crane or half the inmates at Arkham." Hopefully this time we can see Scarecrow Stage 2.

Wow, the more i hear about next years comic book movies the more pumped i get. I guess you have to be submersed in crap (the movies of this year--Ghost Rider, Fantastic Four 2, and i know i'm gonna get flamed for this but Spider-man 3) to get to the good stuff (Dark Knight, Iron Man, Incredible Hulk).

Indeed. That's actually something to be proud of, cause in the 20 year span that Batman films have been released, not one character has done it, nor have most of them lived to even have a chance to do it (the character I mean, not the actor ).

Unless of course Riddler and Two Faces' costumes count in B & R.

, i guess my concern is that one of next years crop could turn out like SM3 - great marketing, great cast, great villains - crappy script and film. So far, the buzz on all three you mentioned is great.

Perhaps as the film progresses he realizes what the Joker is doing, possibly playing Scarecrow, and Crane gives in to his inner 'crow'.

This is going to be crazy awesome. We have in this film: The Joker, a pre Two-Face Harvey Dent, a rumoured appearance by the Riddler, a rumoured mention of pre Catwoman Selina Kyle, and now proof that Scarecrow is coming back.

Man, it'll be just like a Batman comic... AWESOME!

I'm glad that Chris Nolan doesn't just kill off every villain at the climax of the movie like pretty much every other director. Even if they aren't the main villain of the piece I like the idea that other villains at least have a presence in the film and it feels like there are a whole bunch of costumed villains running around Gotham at any one time, it gives you sort of a "just another day in the life of Batman" feel rather than just doing each film a new villain pops up, Batman fights them, they die. Rinse and repeat.

What would be the point of making him go completely insane and becoming full Scarecrow in the last one then? Seems like a wasted opportunity to me.
