[Why Are You Crouching Spock?]

I liked the idea that they are not intimately connected like batman 89, that role being more ras and bruce in BB obviously, it gave a sense of diffrent stuff going on at the same time, a more active city than singularly concentrated, him against him.

I enjoyed his performance and didn't mind toning him down costume wise for Nolan's version. I am really crossing my fingers that they don't screw up continuity in the next film. I hope that the scene or scenes he may be in, he will be acting kind of bat**** crazy since that's kind of how we left him at the end of BB.

I'm hoping we get some type of new costume for crane like the stage two scarecrow they were going to o but I doubt it considering the pics we have seen.

I too would like to see him sort of 'loopy', but don't forget, Fox had an antidote for the toxin by the end of BB, and said it would take weeks to manufacture on a large scale. From what we know, TDK takes place a few weeks to a month after BB, meaning there was time for the antidote to be released to the public. My guess is Crane problem got his hands on some.

This is all just speculation though. An alternative would be that Crane embraced his fear, and is now using it as his greatest attribute. The toxin gives him a 'clearer view' on things, and he never thinks to cure it.

Whatever it may be, I'm thrilled to have him back.

He was pretty boring though imo scarecrow was just used to fill a gap in BB cillian murphy was okay but bland. Batman is most widely known for his rogues gallery a collection of freaks and maniacs who are larger the life but incredibly dangerous Joker:clown prince of crime a criminal mastermind who wears the motif of a clown including an insane grin and pale white skin ect ect i got neither from scarecrow or the 20 second cameo from Zsasz (the biggest character waste in history imo read knightfall) this is another reason why BB underwhelmes i know thier is an argument for too much villain screentime in B89,BR,B&R,BF, BB doesnt strike the precious balnce of Villain/batman screentime that was vital to the movie.

i always assumed he got whatever Holmes got...which brings up the question as to why he isnt dead. He said Holmes would die from the concentration...

People keep forgetting that BB was building up to all those, its year one guys. Batmans rogues are just starting to shape up and come into the picture, thats was TDK will be all about.

BB was about bruces journey into Batman, so its going to deal more with him trying to defeat his own monsters and find himself and not so much his well established rogues.

See I thought that Cillian nailed it. He isn't the Jonathan Crane of the comics, but his internal corruption and lack of concern for the criminals and innocent victims made him an excellent villian. His minimal screen time was critical for not cluttering the film.

I don't really get how anyone can consider him an "excellent" villain though. I mean he was good for the time given, but that's where it stops. He was barely a blimp in the overall scheme of things, and I certainly wouldn't consider him in the top tier of movie villains after watching BB.

He was a good pawn, but Scarecrow can be so much more. To be in the realm of excellence, you'd have to be memorable. I honestly can't say Cillian was that.

I'm not trying to split hairs here, but I do think that Crane was a critical part of the story by creating a way to mass produce an inhalant form of the toxin. Not to mention disabling Falcone.

Maybe "excellent villian" wasn't the proper tag, but he was a integral part of the story nonetheless.
