The only thing I didn't like about Scarecrow in BB was the fear fx. It looked more like Corey Tailor from Slipknot in a videoclip, than an actual fear situation.
It was rectified (kinda) in the final battle, but I hope TDK gets it better.

Well, when one has a hallucination, it's more likely to be abstract and "unreal-looking" than anything else.

Besides, that effect is only so unappealing to people because it has been completely overused in music videos - I think it worked well for what it was trying to portray.

Sure, but I wanted to sense as much of the fear they did.
I'd ave preferred if they had done the hallucination by staging a horror sequence, kinda like where Flass sees the 2 young people.
TAS got it right. I'm not saying do it exactly like that, but when a cartoon gives me the creepies even now (where he sees his father with red eyes turning into a skeleton, Jesus H. Caviezel)... well, it worked.

Fair enough

Indeed. I think that its necessary though. There is so much already going on that if Scarecrow had a role even as big as in BB, then it might clutter the movie and make it seem like they were packing too much into it.

I agree, bkey. Although I also think Scarecrow is such an interesting character that I wish he got more screentime. If his appearence in TDK is indeed short, let's hope he blows us all away in those few minutes.

Perhaps we'll get the best in part 3/SOTB. Two-Face could possibly free Scarecrow, assuming he survives this one.

Magic 8Ball says...."Not likely." Although I'm sure he'll survive. This isn't the Burton franchise, they'll keep the rogues gallery alive.

Scarecrow is great but he has been used. Why use him again? The aspects of fear have already been explored. Sure there is more to scarecrow than that, but maybe someone else would be better.
I have heard the catwoman rumor which is a shame really cause i hate her (blame it on her being an unworthy b*tch and on Pfeiffer). If a woman is to be used (not another male villain, lets put batman through loooooove and dealing with the female cunning....), then i vote for talia, though rhas is not the immortal rhas of the comics and he is dead now. And a big part of talia is her always betraying batman for her father. But you know... i dont think she ever claimed as big a part of bruce's heart as catwoman did. So if she is used, that has to be fixed.

How do you know Ra's is dead?

Well I guess if you wanna get all nitpicky, we don't know. But we're at least supposed to believe he's dead and all logic would suggest that he did not magically survive that train wreck,

Ra's is dead. The lazurus pits would never work in this universe and to use them would be to destroy everything Nolan has tried to create in his batmovies. Its a stupid idea anyway IMO.

If [SIZE=-1]Tarantino directed BB we would have seen rha's turn into a mass of blood and meat....and brains... Nolan cut the scene before that.

I think it would be ridiculous to have Ra's as a villian in the 3rd movie. There are so many other characters who have yet to be explored, why reuse him? Sure he's interesting but they should introduce other characters.

Agreed. Batman has one of the largest and most diverse rouges gallery of any superhero, as much as I loved Cillian as Scarecrow (and will enjoy what screen time he has in TDK), simply reusing villains for Batman robs of us great potential. Now, people are speculating we'll see Joker and Two-Face in the next movie (should it get that far), but I would almost rather see new faces. Riddler, Mad Hatter, Hush, Penguin, etc.

But bringing back Ra's, especially, would be weak.

Cillian Murphy has gone back to basics starring in a new play called Love Song which runs until March 3rd.

I hope after he's finished that he'll don his mask again in TDK.It certainly didn't seem like the end for Scarecrow in the last movie.

Wow... it's like... where TV stars go to retire. Unheard of plays.

I can't wait to see Cilian Murphey's role as the Scarecrow in the new movie. It's neat cause my little brother's favorite villian is Scarecrow and mine is the Joker so it's gonna be awesome to see the two interact with each other.

Maybe. Don't get your hopes up on the two sharing any screen time together.

Wow I sound like a killjoy
