It's funny I just saw BB again last night too. The weird thing is I ended up hating Katies performance less, and thought Bale just got eaten by most of the cast in terms of acting styles. He was so reserved...

It's weird how many people in smaller parts did an amazing job though, the evil head of the board guy, Gordon, Alfred, Fox, Flass, Falcone ... a lot of them had some pretty awful lines and made them seem convincing. I mean hell, I wouldn't even know how to deliver something like "didn't you get the memo" in a half-way-believable-in-the-real-world way, and it was done twice

Yes it was a great performance. I kept watching his reaction shots and background moments while someone else was speaking when I rewatched BB again last night.
