Scientology working on the UK police force as well
The discount will deepen controversy stemming from the opening of the centre in October, when Chief Superintendent Kevin Hurley, of the City of London Police, said that Scientologists were "raising the spiritual wealth of society".

There is no suggestion that Mr Hurley benefited personally, but it emerged that other City of London Police officers accepted Scientology hospitality, including invitations to the première of Cruise's film Mission: Impossible III.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Minton - A Millionair he clashed with Scientology and opened the Lisa McPherson Trust, a trust designed to help people leaving Scientology. Founded in the memroy of Lisa McPherson who had expressed to her parents the intent to leave Scientology shortly before she died.

Scientology dug into Minton's finances. Minton said Scientology operatives stirred up an allegation that he helped a Nigerian dictator launder $12-billion as part of a business deal 12 years ago. Minton has not been charged and says the allegation is bogus.

"You guys sit in that office and figure out how many crimes to cover up? How are you going to cover up your drug addict diet? How are you going to cover up your mistress women? How are you going to cover up your Nigerian stealing back?"

Ken Dandar, the lawyer in the case, said Minton called him frantically saying:
“Ken, you have to help me, they've got me this time. If you don't drop the case Monday morning, the blood and death of my daughters, my wife and myself will be on your hands.”

The Church of Scientology had long characterized the Cult Awareness Network as both an opponent of religious freedom and a "hate group."[22] In 1990, a woman named Jolie Steckart, posing as Laura Terepin, applied to volunteer for the (Old) Cult Awareness Network.[23] Bob Minton later hired a private investigator to look into this, and in 1998 discovered that she was actually a "deep undercover agent", who was managed by David Lee, a private investigator hired by the Church of Scientology.[23] Steckart had also attempted to infiltrate the Scientology-critical organization Fight Against Coercive Tactics Network or "FACTnet".[23]

"In 1988, Miller wrote a rueful article for The Listener magazine on the bizarre experiences which he had had in writing Bare-Faced Messiah. The nadir was probably the attempt by persons unknown to frame him for an axe murder in South London. Things could only get better after that..."

Summarized Experiences From Within the Cult Scientology

1. Not allowed to see my mom but once a day when I was six. Was only permitted to see her at dinner for one hour.
2. My mom was made to work 12 hour days and was only paid $50.00 a week and given room and board.
3. I was made to live in a dorm at the age of six, separate from my mom or dad, with three other girls my age.
4. I was made to believe from a very early age that Scientologist were the better than other people, and if you were not in it, you were not good enough.
5. I was told to only tell my grandparents good things about myself when I visited, to not let on if I was behind in school, but just make them think I am a great student.
6. Scientologists constantly refers to people outside of their 'religion" as "Wogs". A derogatory term used commonly by members in it.
7. I was made to join staff when I was 14. I had to sign a billion year contract because of their beliefs in reincarnation.
8. I had to stop attending school when I was 14, to join staff. I could only attend school one day a week on Sunday for about 10 hours.
9. I was made to live in a two room apartment with seven other women when I was 14. Overcrowding is commonplace. I live like that for most of my seven years on staff.

Scientology threat

Watch this interview with an ex-Scientologist. It's pretty scary to hear him talk about it.

Or..... the media prefers to cover things the general public actually cares about, whether it's a provocative action by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad or the 2008 Presidential election, or some stupid move by a world-famous celebrity. Most people simply don't care about this cause. Hell, most people don't even know what Scientology is, let alone care one way or the other how this protest progresses.

Maybe Anonymous should start bombing some COS locations? Then they'd get attention...

Ironically you're just advocating the theatrical aspecs of Anonymous as a means to help garner attention. The general public doesn't generally have what they should know at the top of their priority list.

Though I'm not sure what you were hoping to emply with the last part.

Again, you are implying that the general public should be worried about Scientology when that is not true.

In your opinion, and ignoring that, I never meant to imply that they should be worried about scientology. They should be made aware of the issues.

I hope that helps to clarify things for you.

This is about the 30th time I've said this, I wish people would spend a little more time reading and a little less time guessing at what they think I'm trying to imply.

But if you want to argue against the general public being made aware that Scientology is actively trying to change policy in public schools and influence the police departments are various places, by all means.

When you say things like "the general public doesn't necessarily have what they should know at the top of their priority list" what am I supposed to get from that? You said something the page before about people being ignorant about not knowing about Scientology. The thing you STILL don't understand is that Scientology does not pose a threat to the general public. That is not opinion, that is fact. They just don't hold that kind of power.

Something seems to be going over your head. I understand just fine that Scientology isn't going to be transforming the entire first world into Clearwater, that's not the point, something that you can't seem to grasp.

Maybe you're suppose to grasp what I've been saying for pages now, that people should be informed about the crimes and issues of Scientology which are actually prevalent relative to the size of the organization, not your own lackadaisical assumption.

So go on and argue against the idea that the public has a right to know about a well funded group trying to alter public schools, and suceeding in some cases.

I never said they don't have a right to know. But the people who really NEED to know are ones that continue to join up with Scientology. The way you present the stuff, it comes off as this is one of the worst things to hit America and EVERYONE has got to watch out for these guys. I guess it just reminds me too much of all the ****ing fear mongering the media does. That is how you come off with this.

Who are the general public? Or vulnerable people? Who are generally very ignorant of the true nature of Scientology, or its various front groups? Your logic eats itself.

I'm sorry you find factual information to be so offensive.

I have no clue what you just posted. Honestly. It didn't make sense. If you want to believe that everyone in this country HAS to be on the look out for Scientology, you are mistaken. They have apparently been around for a lot longer than I thought, and I never felt Scientology's true nature imposing itself on me.

I'm sorry you have problems with someone posing rhetorical questions as a means to expose your self defeating logic.

The People Scientology recruits are:

- The General public
- The Elite
- Vulnerable people
- All groups are generally very ignorant of the true nature of Scientology, or its various front groups.

Hence your logic eats itself since the very people that Scientology recruits are the people in the that Anonymous is educating.

You'll have to come up with another broken talking point.

And your sample of 1 person (you) really goes a long way to justifying inaction. Heck I've never had a gambling problem, so clearly there's no need to inform people about the potential dangers of gambling. If you come back with saying that the dangers of gambling are self evident? The dangers of Scientology aren't.

You think most people in general take Scientology seriously or are thinking about joining them? How is that possible when just about everything newsworthy about Scientology is negative or having them being perceived as crazy? It just come off as fear mongering when you pump this up to be such a big threat.

Absolutely true Jerry!

Fictionology? bwahahahaha!

Edit*

Fictionology actually sounds like it makes more sense than anything else.

I like how in the article the leader of the scientology church basically says "Real religions are loosing money because of Fictionology". As if loosing member's beliefs were at risk second to money.

That's not really the point. Nor is the public perception of them as one sided as you'd propose.

Most general people have no idea about the crimes of Scientology, crimes that Scientology does their best to cover up. It also doesn't help that the most public negative commentary on Scientology came from South park and that the general media is afraid to cover Scientology objectively because of potential lawsuits (like the One the LA times suffered through for their article in the 1990's.

I find this a very interesting turn in the Anonymous strategy...

Anonymous intends to continue its campaign to educate the public about the true nature of the Church of Scientology; with the March 15th protest, and future events such as Operation Reconnect.

Scheduled to take place during April, Operation Reconnect will shine a spotlight on families torn apart by the Church of Scientology. The aim is to bring these families together, with a number of the disconnected making public pleas to the relatives and friends - to "reconnect" with them.

I doubt that some hacker /b/tard came up with that. A very good idea.

LOL

Again, the fact that you rabidly focus on this tiny minority for doing something that Christians have been doing on a way more massive scale, without one word of condemnation for the Christians, bl00ps your credibility.
You're an intolerant Anti-Scientology bigot.

You ought to watch this episode of Nova about Christians who not only tried to infiltrate the highest levels of the board of education to use public schools as brainwashing facilities, they DID it.

I think tmz will be a geek fest. I look forward to the hilarious pictures of students around the world dressed as V. It should be damn funny!

Your hateraid will not be quenched will it? I have seen that and do now about it. Your lame "but there were/are bigger ones currently out there!" is missing the point. Go form your own personal army if you want to go take down Christianity or Islam or something, that's not what Anonymous is about here. The issue you speak of with Christianity and Islam are all much more known than that of Scientology.

So now I'm a bigot? That's rich coming from the Religion hater. Any act of breaking the law should be condemned, as should the actions of those individuals who you refer to in this incident. Religion is not the contention of the issue, indoctrinated practices are. So before you waste more bandwithd, learn that distinction. I have no problem with the beliefs of Scientology, or any Religion for that matter.

So go on and paint me a bigot when nothing could be further from the truth.

If you were really on board with societal trespasses being condemned you wouldn't be wasting your time trying to discredit a group who's trying to help raise awareness that one of those groups that you hate so much is breaking the law. Comparably the knowledge of the issues of those bigger groups that you hate so much, are much more known and much less centralized.

So hows about you put that in perspective before continuing on your one trick pony crusade to misinterpret the issues.

Find me something in the bible that says "Infiltrate and subvert public schools and all agencies of the government".
