is it just me or does that kinda remind anyone else of Sylar from, Heroes
(I mean, that mix of the two, not who's under mask, or the pic it self)

i distinctly remember someone likening Routh to a Vulcan pin up boy when his photo first hit the net. so yeah, you're not too far off there :oldrazz:

Yeah, I thought that as well when I first saw it, so you are definitely not the only one.

SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD Sends Up the White Smoke
2/26/2009

Just when you start thinking that Edgar Wright has run out of awesome announcements and cool sneak peeks for "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" he just turns around and proves you wrong.

Today's photo (seen below) from Edgar's blog seems fairly innocuous yet monumental. If I'm reading the slate correctly (and I'm probably not), this is the first take of the first scene of the first day of shooting. You can't really tell what's happening in the scene other than it possibly involving a telephone booth and a tanker.

But if you look closer at the slate, you can see the name next to the abbreviation, "CAM". That name is "B. Pope" and unless there's another cinematographer renowned for shooting crazy, unforgettable action scenes whose last name is also "Pope" and whose first name starts with the letter 'B', then "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" just got a major boost in the technical department by bringing Bill Pope on board. What's more, Pope is no stranger to the merging of incredible visual effects, intricate set-pieces, and comedy having worked on "Team America: World Police" and "The Matrix Revolutions".

Click here to wonder if the next major player on Edgar's team is editor Chris Dickens who not only just won an Oscar for "Slumdog Millionaire" but worked with Wright on "Spaced", "Shaun of the Dead", and "Hot Fuzz".

Awesome!

Are you interested in possibly filming along side Mary in Scott Pilgrim vs. The Word? Do you live in Toronto or a surrounding area? Well now is your chance! There is an open casting call for extras this Saturday, March 7.

Here is all the info you need!

Universal Studios will be filming a movie in Toronto from April – August 2009. Production is holding an open call in the hope of finding hundreds of males and females, any ethnicity, to be extras in this upcoming project.

The greatest demand is for extras between 18 – 29 yrs old that could play fans in an indie rock club but older ages are needed as well for various other scenes.

If you are interested in applying to be an extra in the film simply come down to the open call on the date and time listed below. Please give yourself an hour for the open call in case of line ups. You will be asked to fill out a form and production will take a photo of you at that time.

DATE: Saturday, March 7th
TIME: 12:00PM – 5:00PM
(please show up anytime during these hours)
LOCATION: 30 Booth Ave, Stage A, Toronto M4M 2M2

Additional Info:
Extra work pays $10.25/hour (8 hour minimum). A typical work day is anywhere from 8 – 16 hours.

Most extras are required anywhere from 1 – 5 days total over the course of filming. These work dates depend on what scene you are booked for. You will be asked to list your availability at the open call.

Production will be booking extras throughout filming so if you don’t get a call before we start filming it doesn’t mean you won’t be needed.

For additional information regarding extra work and production policies please download our “Policy Guidelines.”
If you would like a reminder emailed to you the night before the open call please email us [email protected] and put ‘Reminder’ in the subject box.

Look forward to seeing you on March 7th!

Not nitpicking, but why is this thread in Misc Films and not Misc Comics Films? I've always wondered why it hasn't been moved, or put their originally.

Anyway, I wish I could go to casting for extra work, but considering I have school, work and live 4 hours away...this isn't likely.

^ There are actually two Scott Pilgrim threads for some reason.

Because Misc comics film gets next to kno traffic, and it will be seen here by more people.

Actually, it makes no sense.

The Misc comics forum gets no viewers because no one cares about the movies in them. However, every time a misc comic film DOES generate interest, it is removed from the forum and placed in with the non-comic films. This is not only incorrect placing AND hurting one of the forums on the site, but its an insult to the source material. Scott Pilgrim, and Fathom are comic book films...yet here they are...because the comics dont matter. Brandon Routh matters. Megan Fox matters. So the two films are intentionally incorectly placed due to their star power.

Remember kids...comic books only matter if they are Marvel or DC.

Uhmm, no. Only die hard comic fans go to Misc Comic film, and it's not because thy don't matter. There are two Scott Pilgrim threads, one here, one there. You don't have to come to this one. The goal of this place, and all the boards is to get discussion going. Something like Fathom in Misc Comics would get 5 posts, and die out. Here you talk about an action thriller starring a near nude Megan Fox and it will attract attention and be a thread where more than two posters discuss it.

It's not because it doesn't matter, being here only helps its cause, and if the film proves successful, may even get its own forum

I put Dead of Night (The upcoming Dylan Dog movie) in the Misc. Comics Films forums because that seemed like the spot where it should go:

If no one goes in that forum, shouldn't the forum just be eliminated so there isn't any confusion? When I looked for the Scott Pilgrim thread, I looked in Misc. Comics Films. Later, I just did a search for "Pilgrim" and this thread popped up first.
If the best and most popular movies are not put in Misc. Comics Films, then people will definitely stop going there anyway.

Have you read Scott Pilgrim, Lobo? Maybe I'll get off my butt and go get this series. I like the art.

Last I checked, the Fathom thread in the Misc Comics Film forum was closed so that people would comment in the thread in the Misc Forum. It may have been reopened since I last checked, but the fact is that it was closed for awhile, while the intentioanlly misplaced thread kept going.

If a comic based movie needs the plain old regular Misc Film forum in order to get comments then it DOES NOT deserve a forum all its own. If no one is willing to go to the Misc Comics Films forum to comment on a movie, then there is no reason to think theyd be willing to go to a brand new forum dedicated solely to that film. As the mods here have openly expressed in both the Fathom thread and this thread...Scott Pilgrim and Fathom need to be mixed in with non comic book movies in order for people to care about them...and since this site is about comic book movies...and every Forum is comic book related (even GI Joe) then that means that Misc Films shouldnt get their own forums. Therefore, Fathom and Scott Pilgrim dont deserve their own forums any more than Friday The 13th, Public Enemies or any other hot film. But of course, if the movies become hot they will get their own forums. Because, as I said...comic books are only acknowledged by the mainstream comic industry when and if they become larger than their actual comic. Because...comics dont matter unless it's Marvel or DC.

I wonder if Routh can play guitar, or fake play (not have his hands looking ridiculous)?

Brandon comes from a family of musicians. He can play the trumpet and some piano, if I remember well. He probably plays some other instruments, not sure.

Here's Brandon Routh in that same shirt if it helps:

JESUS CHRIST! Has he beefed up recently? He's definitely got the physique for Superman now!

He definitely has and he definitely does.
Here are two other recent pics:

Seriously, let the man take another crack at Superman, hopefully with a director who won't make him act like Christopher Reeve.

^ I think that's where things currently are. Some kind or requel (reboot/sequel) with Routh returning, but a new director.
