Scream 4!!!!!

I think by bloody, it just means it will be bloodier, possibly like Saw/Hostel, but it won't focus over a minute of how the person is being stabbed or something.

I watched Scream 2 yesterday. Still love it.

I also read the first draft of the screenplay. Besides the setting, Randy's death and other set pieces, its very different. Randy is Gale's cameraman, there's a random character named Joel who's pretty goddamn useless. There's three killers, and Cotton turns all psycho who wants to kill Sydney at the end.

I'm glad they changed so much around. Because that draft wasn't very good. Derek and Hallie being the killers? The dialogue between them was a little much. Maybe I don't like it because I'm picturing the actors in that scenario in the draft.

Agreed on all counts.

Mrs Loomis was so much more effective as the mastermind killer. She's actually my favorite of all the killers so far. She was devilishly clever, and completely insane.

I just loved that it was Aunt Jackie from Roseanne. That made it all the more awesome.

Mickey was personally my favorite killer out of everyone.

I didn't see Mickey coming AT ALL. I remember I saw the finale of this film years ago and knew this crazy older lady was the killer and Cotton had something to do with it, but I didn't know aobut Mickey. So at least there was still a surprise for me there.

It kinda sucks actually. I was spoiled that there were two killers (although I didn't know it was Stu and Billy) in Scream and I knew Mrs. Loomis was the killer in the second.

Which is one of the reasons why I want to stay spoiler free with this.

I think a lot of people guessed Mickey because it was either him or someone from the first film. I love how they tried to throw everyone off with Cotton , that was good.

The thing is, I completely forgot about Mickey later on. He kinda disapeared. He left a good impression, but somehow they managed, at least to me, make him not stick in your memory. I think that's one of the reasons why I didn't see it coming. To me he came out of nowhere. When he pulled the mask off I was like, "Oh... Mickey!"

When he spoke in the mask I didn't even recognize the voice.

The brilliance of these films is their ability to throw people off. Think about it. It's actually very deep. I can't imagine all the plotting that has to happen for these.

I knew it was Mickey from the moment Gale and Dewey had the tape start playing I was like ''Yeah, that one friend of Sid's is the killer he had a camera on him during the lunchroom scene."

He does kind of disappear, that's true. That makes the reveal more effective, but I don't know, the fact that he isn't that memorable a character might be somewhat of a flaw with the movie.

Don't get me wrong, I adore Scream 2.

What I liked about Mickey was that he had a motive that wasn't revenge. I do love "good old fashioned revenge" as a motive, but it was nice to see another crazy motive thrown into the mix.

Stu just seemed to be in it for the fun of it. It's never really delved into as to what Stu wanted from it. But Mickey and his crazy blame the movies motive was class. I love what Mrs Loomis says after she shoots him.

"Mickey was a good boy, but MY GOD that whole blame the movies motive, did you buy that for ONE second? The poor boy was completely out of his mind"

Yeah, he was the one friend not dead at the end. It being Derek (the boyfriend again) would be repetitive. However, Mrs. Loomis (aka the secondary news lady in the background) being the real mastermind blew my mind. I did not see that coming at all.

I will add what I liked about Mickey was he was a direct caricature of what the media likes to paint...a warped being created by violence in movies and video games. The fact that he embraced this and was using this in the '90s (right after the OJ trial) and basically positioning himself to be the posterboy victim of politically incorrect films was brilliantly subversive of all the criticism the Scream movies and other media had come under in that decade.

I thought it was great writing.

Didn't Mrs. Loomis say she found Mickey on some kind of online killer chat room? Something like that? Thought that was weird. Theres just chat rooms where you can find someone to help you kill a bunch of people.

Haha, yeah, she kind of did have a point though. :woot: It's an interesting angle to take for Mickey, but when she put it that way, it did kind of sound like something unbelievable. Like only in his mind it would work out perfect.

Tis a brilliant idea. Especially since the topic still rages on today. It doesn't influence people into killing. Influencing in how to kill maybe. But a game or movie making someone go insane? Doesn't happen.

A chatroom on the topic of serial killers, like talking about Bundy or Dahmer. They met through that chatroom.

Well, Charlene Yi may have given away a crucial spoiler on Conan tonight.

She auditioned for the role of the killer in Scream 4. That narrows down suspects. One of the younger, new female characters. Who fits the type? Emma Roberts perhaps? Seems age appropriate for Charlene Yi. Either her, Allison Brie, or Hayden Pantierre's character. Kinda narrows it down.

As I said in Conan's thread. EVERYONE had to read lines from the first film to prove they were vicious enough to be the killer.

I hope the movie is much more in-tone with the first movie, with the darker tone and spirit, and the humor more like the original movie in that it's there but the scares and suspense come first. I didn't like how the humor was more prominent in 2 and 3. I thought the original got the balance down perfectly.

Scream 2 is **** tons darker than Scream 1 in my opinion. Every one of Sidney's friends is dead. She has no one by the end of that movie.

What, Dewey doesn't count?

Scream 2 does have the most brutal moment in the series: Randy's death. I still haven't gotten over that; never will.
