Scrubs: Season 8 on a new network

Why couldn't they save Arrested Development? :csad:

Because Arrested Development never had a strong fanbase to warrant syndication to begin with. I mean, its playing on G4 now...G4 for **** sake. :csad:

Okay, so if it is Turk teaching at Med school (and why he would leave Sacred Heart for a teaching job is beyond me being as he just got a great promotion that makes him one of the most powerful and well paid doctors in the hospital) why not just rename it?

They should at least give it a subtitle to sort of separate it a little.

Because Arrested Development was on FOX, not ABC. FOX cancels good shows like a hemophiliac loses blood. ABC can't go around saving their shows.

....and only one night a week....late night Sundays..

Yep. It's not like CBS, where they can always replace any one of their shows with another CSI Spinoff.

Coming soon: CSI Omaha.

But they saved Scrubs :csad:
Scrubs used to air on NBC, but it was always produced by ABC. When NBC dropped it, ABC just picked up what they were technically already making.

It's like the old days of TGIF. Those shows were played on ABC, but they were all made by Warner Bros. That's why when ABC cancelled Sabrina The Teenage Witch, The WB had no problem snatching it up.

The same thing may happen with My Name Is Earl, too. 20th Century Fox makes it and Fox is looking at picking it up.

considering the state of the TV business...its going to be a tight couple years....any new shows will have to earn their keep and any shows being renewed are getting their budgets slashed....examples being Charlie from Fringe getting cut loose, Greys cutting 2 main characters

and it'd get 10 million viewers a week

Come on, who wouldn't watch CSI Omaha?

Detective (played by Jeff Foxworthy): Why'd you kill him?

Suspect: He planted his seed in my daughter's belly.

Foxworthy: *goes and drinks moonshine to drown the sorrows of his job*

It would be gold! Gold I tell you!

CBS is really just the most offensive network on basic cable IMO. Even more so than FOX. At least Fox takes risks, even if they do cancel those risk-taking shows 6 episodes in (but, hey, Fringe is getting a second season!) CBS is just so horrifically predictable. Boring ass traditional sitcoms and standard crime dramas are all that keep that damn network afloat. I truly hate that it gets such great ratings.

The great ratings have to do with the fact that CBS beats the viewer to death with show promos on their sporting events, especially NFL, The Masters and March Madness.

Quite frankly, I love NCIS. Only thing from CBS I watch.

I've actually recently been enjoying some CBS programs. How I Met Your Mother is amazing, of course and I've developed a taste for The Mentalist recently. I've had all the episodes of the season DVR'ed and just started watching last week. Simon Baker of course makes the show, but it is a good take on the police drama. Plus Harper's Island is great (and quite the contradiction to Sawyer who claims they take no risks) and it has the best two reality shows in Survivor and Amazing Race.

Alright, alright. Congratulations, CBS... you've taken one risky show under your wing out of three hundred something series in the past five to ten years that have been boring, monotonous crap. Bravo.

But why take risks? CBS is the number one network in America, maybe at the end of the day, people don't want risks. They like what they like. Who are you to judge?

Uhh... because I'm right and they're wrong.

:hehe:
I dont know, it just annoys me to no end.

I agree but I didn't even know it was a show till it started playing on USA in between Law And Order: SVU.

seriously I hate CSI cause it's all too the same so the same. the Law and Order spin offs work much better IMO because they feel like different shows called Law & Order. Every CSI spin off feels like the same show with a different city in the name. Every episode starts with a hot girl getting killed for the main case and then there is a back up case where a someone is killed by their friend/coworker over sleeping with their wife or stealing their job.

I like Cold Case on CBS. NCIS is good as well, especially the chemistry between DiNozo and Ziva.

someone needs a hug..:oldrazz:

I see your point, Sawyer...but Matt is right....one mans boring, monotonous crap is another mans 12 million viewers

have you seen The Big Bang Theory? It's great. They talk about geeky stuff all the time.

Zach confirms he will be in the first 6 episodes:

To clear up the confusion:
Scrubs will be coming back, but in a new incarnation. Scrubs as we've all known it is over. That chapter is closed. But as there are so many fans of the characters and writing of the show worldwide, the powers that be have decided to try and keep them alive a little longer (in the spirit of "Frasier" being a new chapter of "Cheers".)

I will be in the first 6 episodes of this new incarnation to help transition the show into what it will become. And then I will be off to work on some new projects that I'm very excited about/ write my new movie/continue to learn how to fly airplanes. :)) As to what the new show is? That's only clear in the mind of Bill Lawrence at this time.

I know many of you will have very strong opinions on this topic. And I respect them all. But first and foremost, if any of you were in a position to put about 200 people whom you really loved back to work in this economy, you would do it in a second. That has always been in the back of Bill's and my mind; we just didn't imagine ABC would ever give us the opportunity to keep it going.

If anyone can find an interesting new shape for the show it's Bill. Don't hate it until you see what he comes up with. Once its up and going there will be plenty of time for you to decide whether you love it or hate it.

Hope this clarifies a few things. That's all the info there is on that right now... I hope this finds you smiling,
love,
zb

I'm not thrilled about it....I'll take a 'wait and see' approach....if the show is still quality then it deserves to keep running....Im just happy Better Off Ted got renewed

Better off Ted getting renewed is good news!

Gauranteed all you people behind this shows extension will be complaining within a year about how they have sullied the beauty of the Finale.
