Scrubs: Season 8 on a new network

At the end of season 8, Kelso said he was going back into medicine and his new job would allow him to travel a lot. He's just someone I didn't expect to come back.

With Carla, I imagine they'll just say she wants to stay home to take care of Izzy & Other Kid.

As for Glenn Matfewsth, who knows?

Glad to see Dr. Cox and Turk coming back at least.

I know that J.D. will be in the first six episodes, but that's it? We'll never see him again? Him being Turk's best friend, you'd expect to see him pop up every now and then. And what's the news on Carla, The Janitor, and Kelso returning (if any)?

I, too, will give this "new" series a shot, but I don't know what to expect. It could go either way, really.

Neill Flynn (The Janitor) is on the show "The Middle" which got picked up for a full season, but according to IMDB, he's playing the Janitor for 4 episodes.

*crosses fingers*

New theme song, new theme song, new theme song...

I don't know about a new theme song, but Zach Braff said in a video posted on his facebook page that he shot a new title sequence.

Can't wait for the return of Scrubs. Should be interesting to see where the show will go now.

I originally was not thinking this could work, but if they keep a rotating cast, as it is about med school, it could work

Official description over at ABC.COM:

The series follows the unique point of view of Dr. John "J.D." Dorian (Zach Braff). After leaving for a job at another hospital, J.D. returns to Sacred Heart to teach at its medical school alongside Chris Turk (Donald Faison), Perry Cox (John C. McGinley), Denise (Eliza Coupe) and Bob Kelso (guest star Ken Jenkins). Together they serve as professors (and inspiration) to a brand new class of med students, including the impressionable Lucy (Kerry Bishé), former med school drop out Drew (Michael Mosley), and cocky, entitled Cole (Dave Franco). As for his personal life, J.D. is now married to longtime sweetheart Dr. Elliot Reid (guest star Sarah Chalke), and the happy couple are expecting their first child.

so how much of a time jump are we in? A few years must have passed between the season 8 finale and season 9 premiere, right?

I think they said it was only a year or so.

Long enough for Elliot and JD to be married with child.

If Denise is coming back as a main character, I guess she'll be in the middle of her residency and helping some of the interns like JD and Elliot did. I have a feeling she's gonna be fun as a more experienced doctor. I don't see her taking any of Dr. Cox's crap.

Saw a photo of Kerry Bishe (Lucy) in her scrubs outfit for the show and she looks less like Leighton Meester then she did in a previous article announcing her casting.

I seen a new promo video for this, during V last night. It starts the beginning of December.

Ausiello's seen the first 2 episodes of the season:

Question: Is there anything you can give us to hold us over until Scrubs’ Dec. 1 premiere? —Jillian

Ausiello: I can give you the 411 on the first two episodes, both of which I have seen and (for the most part) enjoyed. The med-school revamp was a bit jarring, I’ll admit, but it helped having so many familiar faces on hand (including J.D, Turk, Elliot, Kelso, Janitor and The Todd). Among the new faces, the breakout character is, without question, Dave Franco’s entitled *****ebag, Cole. But as for whether Kerry Bishe’s Lucy has a strong enough voice, as it were, to inherit the narrator baton from Zach Braff’s J.D… well, the jury’s still out. And now for the spoilers: The first two episodes contain news of a death, Dr. Cox takes a page from Dr. House’s playbook and refers to his students as numbers (although he adds his own special twist), and J.D. and Turk’s hit single “Guy Love” makes a comeback.

"news of a death"

Jeeze, I don't think I even want to know who that is.

Yes. I don't know if they've shown any other clips/previews though.
Preview

EDIT: Prison Mike beat me to it! :cmad: :oldrazz:

promo makes no sense. it ended with JD. so shouldnt they promote it with the new people? why focus on somethign that will not be the focus of the show? like JD?

A death!? Oh no...I hope [BLACKOUT]It's not Elliot that dies, giving JD the reason to leave the new series so early on... :([/BLACKOUT]

"You smell like prison."

:lmao:

I imagine since it's simply "news of a death" it's a character that's not going to be with the program.

They're not killing off Elliot when she's pregnant. Ted probably killed himself.
