I hated the first half of season 3. Took me a second try to get through it. Man, was the second half awesome.

In the grand scheme of 24's world politics, a few secret service agents aren't going to be a big deal. After Taylor exposes them, you're talking about a country that's got huge internal and external issues to deal with. Would they try to covertly get Jack? Probably. But they wouldn't have the leverage or credibility to be making that demand for quite a while.

Thing is in the political arena you often have to give a little to get a little, sacrificing Jack by holding him accountable as a rogue as opposed to acting under the US government takes care of any misdeed for the US side of things, leaving a clear path to sort out the Russian President's actions.

With Daniels? Did they ever even speak?

I was thinking about Wayne Palmer, or was he finished as President immediately following Day 6?

Oh, her acting was great. It just genuinely seemed like they were trying to erase Season 7 (ignoring the repercussions of Alan Wilson, ignoring the whole Jack dying thing, Taylor's morals, and changing Renee around).

I never got the impression we were meant to think Jack was going to die at the end of season 7, and I can kind of see your point with Taylor but I thought how they handled her arc made sense, in that she was genuinely trying to do right but foolishly trusted someone she shouldn't have in desperation, then things spiralled out of control. With Renee the whole Alan Wilson thing was left hanging as they gave her this tortured past not even hinted at in season 7, where her by the book but flexible FBI agent was such a great contrast to Jack's world weary ruthless badass.

You shouldn't be a slave to it though.

Not a slave no, but to ignore it betrays the show's cenral theme.

Or he goes off to live quietly somewhere. I just don't agree with you that his ending has to be dark in order to be effective.

It depends on the definition of dark, I don't think Jack ending up in a federal prison being visited by Audrey or even Kim and Teri is a dark wending, but a happy one is not 24, I'd say a bittersweet one is best.

It's a possibility. Which is good. I'm glad they can really go a number of different ways and not have it be predictable.

Agreed, when watching the movie I think the open amount of ideas will be very beneficial to it's quality.

I liked the last scene of 24........but, does anyone else think that after the scene where they show Bauer being dragged out of the ambulance by those agents, they should have left his fate unknown right there? As powerful, and emotional as the final scene we got was, a part of me still wishes we got an ambiguous ending where his fate is left up in the air.....

Probably saving that for the movie.

Season 3 is so intense when it gets towards the end. Another thing I just noticed Tony Todd making an appearance as a detective to interrogate Julia.

As most of you know he later on makes an appearance in Redemption and Season 7 as an African dictator.

Season 3 as a whole was DAMN intense. I remember the part where the mexican drug lords made Jack shoot Chase to prove his loyalty and Jack actually pulled the trigger. Lucky for Chase the gun was empty, but Jack was actually willing to murder Chase right then and there. This was the beginning of Jack's dark downward spiral i think.

Season three is amazing...

BTW just re-started 4 for the 6th time and I hate Marwan,m etc so much...

Plus, wiping CTU of all the past was kida sucky.

At least Tony came back for a while...

I just started Season 4 last night and I will most likely continue it tomorrow since I have to beat up early in the morning tomorrow for work.

If Tony makes an appearance how would you guys like to see him return?

Would you like to see him returning to help Jack or maybe Jack being arrested for his crimes, going into the prison lobby and seeing Tony?

I wouldn't mind if they didn't use Tony. They've done the former partner thing already with Tony, Nina, Henderson etc.

I'd like to see Mandy again.

Well, Tony's story hasn't really been resolvd. I'd like to see him possibly redeem himself or as I said maybe Jack can be arrested and when Jack is sitting in the prison cafeteria Tony comes to sit with him.

Is it just me or does anyone else get excited and pump their fists in the air when Tony saves Jack and Audrey in Season 4?

I'm rewatching Season 4 now and man, I am having a thrill again. This brings back memories of my summer last year when I first started my 24 summer marathon.

I'm almost finished with it and will start on Season 5 either Wednesday or Thursday. However I wanted to point out something that I felt was eerie during Season 4. During Season 8 and afterwards Hunter and many others had debates on whether or not Jack should have a happy ending.

While in some cases I believe he should. But Tony's quote about Jack brought up memories the possibility of Jack not being completely happy when he was talking to Audrey. His quote "Sometimes people are more comfortable in hell." spoke high volumes.

Maybe it's possible that Jack will never be happy and that it seems his only comfort is the battle. You see the same ideals in characters like Solid Snake when the only time they truly feel alive, happy, and worth something is on the battle field.

What is there left to do? Alan Wilson was taken care of. You could have a cool scene where Jack and Tony angrily talk to each other but Tony has no drive left in him.

We have no idea what happened to Alan Wilson. It seems as though they just dropped him and they never said what he revealed to Renee. But I think they could add in a scene or a moment where they contact Tony to find Jack.

Sure, Tony may not have any drive left in him. But I think he should be written in a fashion that redeems his character and he can actually find some sense of peace since he really has nothing else to lose. I'm not even sure he would still be angry at Jack honestly.

So.....what do you guys think Jack whispered to Nina in season 2 that made her freak out?

I have no idea. It may be one of those things where he was pretending to say something to her when in actuality he was just telling her to freak out and cause confusion so he can go outside protocol.

Almost finished with Season 4 and man, the seasons at times gets so intense towards the end. I must say
Jack probably would've gotten away from the chinese if Edgar hadn't accidently tipped the chinese agent off.

From what I heard ( cant remember where I read it) but Kiefer whispered into Sarah Clarke's ear that he loved her, it was just to get a reaction from her, which seemed to work.

I'm re-watching seasn 5. Edgah!!! NO!!! Why couldn't it have been Chloe instead?

And also, Desmond!

I am watching Season 5 as well. About to really get into it tonight since I don't have to be at work until 6 tomorrow.

About halfway finished with Season 5. I have to say that Seasons 1, 3, 4, 5, and 7 are what I consider to be masterpieces. 2 is good, 6 is okay but definitely the weakest season, and 8 gets killer towards the end.

5 is one of my favorites due to the unpredictable nature of the characters and the twists involved. I honestly can't wait to start Season 7 again. I most likely won't start Season 8 until I buy the DVD in December as a Christmas gift to myself.

What's everyones favorite part in Season 5?

I have to say when Lynn orders Jack to allow the nerve gas to be released in the mall and Jack stands his ground ignoring the order.

Oh man, I don't know. The few episodes where the nerve gas is in CTU/Tony's "death" was mindblowing to me.

"She's gone, Jack..."

It was really stupid that they brought Tony back. Also, why the hell was Logan still alive at the end of season 8? Or at least he was being treated.
