if they are so damn stupid they cant get the ticket sales right, then its time to move it and get people that know what they are doing to run it properly.

a lottery system that requires people to mail in a post card is the way to go. Pro sports teams use this. sdcc, why the hell
are you too stupid to figure this out?

Is this rhetorical or are you expecting them to log in and answer?

I say the larfer the beyyer.

Spell Check is your friend.

If they were really clowns, they'd know how to fit lots of people into small spaces.

I agree that the registration this year was insanely aggravating. Not even was the third time the charm, it was a nightmare to get tickets this morning. I wasted 4 hours, my friend was able to get in and was nice enough to also buy my tickets as well.

I would think that moving it to a larper venue would be even better. Think about it. Lightning bolt.

Man I spent like 3 hrs this morning as well as trying the other 2 times and still I was not able to get tickets. Im really disappointed. They didnt even offer a discount after the first 2 tries failed

This was such a great response it deserves quoting.

Good idea, but you should have changed the size so it would be much larfer though.

Larfer size?? is that some sort of European unit of measurement?

I still can't believe they haven't gone with someone like Ticketmaster.

And I heard that the people that run the sdcc are a non profit group. As such, they are very concerned about all of the negative publicity they are getting because of todays F$#@! up. So changes are on the way.

This entire problem started when they decided to farm out the selling of tickets.

Google'd larfer ..

Showing results for larger. Search instead for larfer

they just farmed it out to the wrong company....should have gone with someone established like a Ticketmaster or something

the issue isn't the venue, it's the co-opting of the event by the movie studios and tv networks....kick them out and the problem is solved IMO

Ticketmaster sucks, they have fees up the wazoo. You even have to PAY to have them email you your ticket to print out yourself. :cmad:

The insane popularity of Comic Con is the issue now. :oldrazz: My first time was in 2007 and it was half the price and half of the hassle. I don't think I'm ever going to go again, especially with the co-opting by movie and TV networks. Bleh.

i think SDCC has got too big. and the reason for that is because its no longer about the comics. its not a comic-com, its a pop culture con. which makes it frustrating for someone who wants to go there for the comic book culture, because you have to now deal with so much other crap just to get to what you came for. i think they should scale back on whats included at SDCC.

ticketmaster would have been brought to their knees as well. You need a lottery system!

I was interested this year in going but after this stupid ticket fiasco, I've changed my mind. I wish they would ban celebrities from attending.

I know that would never happen, but I agree with you 100%.

by the way, im completely unaware of what this whole ticket fiasco situation thing is. what happened?

i haven't had any experiences with Comic-Con, but i larfed at the thread's title :hehe:

They tried three times (months in between attempts) to get their online registration up and running. For all the days, the system went down and many people tried for hours to get in. The last time, the same thing happened but in the fiasco they did determine that all the tickets were sold so no more embarrassment this year. :funny:

I tried for HOURS yesterday to get two 4 day passes and couldn't get past the "Sorry we are Overloaded" screen. Now I have to hope a ton of press people return there passes and I can scrounge up them. Enless someone wants to sell me theres here.
