Sneak Peek #4

It seems that Supergirl (like Berlanti’s GA and Flash) has been outfitted with an invisible communications device. ;) I suppose that’s handy.

Yes, it was shown/used in the comic that was written for the TV Guide Comic Con issue.

And she had it in the pilot when she went after Vartox the 2nd time.

What does training for Supergirl look like?

Training for her looks like Hank (David Harewood) and the DEO firing missiles at her as she’s trying to avoid them. There’s a very fun training sequence at the top of episode 2. You’ll see in subsequent episodes, too, that they have a room in the DEO that they can adjust the level of Kryptonite exposure in it to even the playing field, so to speak, for Kara. What’s fun about Kara and Alex (Chyler Leigh) is that Kara obviously has all the superpowers, but Alex is like Sydney Bristow, she’s a trained secret agent. She’s a much more experienced fighter than Kara is. Watching the two sisters spar and train together as Alex tries to make Kara a more competent fighter is a lot of fun.

What time does this come on? 8:00, right?

Depends where you are...

8/7central

Damn I didn't know Melissa was working with all that. lol :)

Is it me or are they using a filter on Calista/Cat?

And the Superman references continue! Siegel Avenue, Donner Avenue, and rescuing 'Fluffy' from a tree. :D

Whenever Calista Flockhart is on screen I want to change the channel. Everything else though is good so far.

I am truly impressed by the effects on this show.

I'm liking the direction of the show and the production is really good, even a bit better than The Flash.

Guess it doesn't mean hope. Clearly, Clark is bad at Kryptonian.

Could have multiple meanings like Japanese or Chinese characters.

What the...? Hank and
red eyes? Is he Cyborg Superman?

  • Some of the writing on this show is horrible. Exhibit A: "Hashtag Terrible Girl." Exhibit B: almost all of the exposition.
  • Cat's monologue about working her way to the top was both well written and well acted.
  • I love that the shield means "stronger together" on this show.
  • Jimmy and Kara are cute together.
  • The episode was overall pretty damn good. The cast has good chemistry, the effects are good, and the series does a great job of keeping you interested.

I know who Hank Henshaw in the comics is but on the show is he [blackout] Martian Manhunter? [/blackout]

They named-dropped Superman, Perry White, Lois and Clark. :cwink:

I like that Supergirl is not perfect from the start, but hey neither was Superman when he first started.

They got into this plot with Astra and the evil Kryptonians already. Like the fight between them.

If I watch this along with the pilot, it is going to feel like a Supergirl movie. The effects surpasses The Flash's. I think they should let Supergirl take care of TV while Superman concentrates on the movies.

Now we'll find out if the ratings for will hold.

The special effects have been good.
