I thought I was missing something in that scene. Something just seemed weird. But it did almost seem oddly comedic.

I could be wrong, but I read it as I was watching it that Cassian was intentionally getting himself caught for some reason. It could be that he just made a mistake but it felt uncharacteristically haphazard of him to put himself so blatantly on the Empire's radar. I'm really eager to see where it goes regardless. This show rules.
