Seattle-Area Restaurant Refuses To Serve TSA Agents
By Chris Morran on February 22, 2011

Fed up with what he views as crappy treatment from the TSA, the owner of a restaurant near Seattle-Tacoma International Airport has decided to put all TSA agents on his No-Eat List.

"We have posted signs on our doors basically saying that they aren't allowed to come into our business," one employee tells travel journalist Christopher Elliott. "We have the right to refuse service to anyone."

She says that whenever a TSA agent attempts to dine at the restaurant, "we turn our backs and completely ignore them, and tell them to leave... Their kind aren't welcomed in our establishment."

The restaurant claims that 90% of its patrons are in agreement with their stance and that the local police have actually helped escort TSA workers of the premises.

"Until TSA agents start treating us with the respect and dignity that we deserve, then things will change for them in the private sector," says the employee.

I like this idea

I actually don't condone this idea for the sheer fact that these are people with jobs. Most of them probably don't condone the new TSA specifics and you're punishing them for doing their job and denying them they NEED.

Only job they doing is being jerks, TSA are a joke. Someone did a test and mange to get through a full body scanner with a gun. So much for security

They don't NEED to dine at that restaurant. They can go somewhere else, or heaven forbid, make their own meals.

I can tell this isn't going to be a thread filled with logic. See ya.

And its not their job to mishandle people, make inappropriate comments, treat people with disrespect, etc.

A buddy of mine and his girlfriend were flying back up here from Florida last year and the TSA agent tried to pat down his gf, despite the fact that female agents are supposed to pat down female passengers. They refused to let him, but the guy kept literally groping at her, saying it was "his job", even "accidentally" grabbed her chest in the shuffle. They pressed charges but are still dealing with it.

I'm all for reasonable security measures, but a lot of the agents take it too far and use their "power" as an excuse to be jerks, perverts, etc. Though I will admit that not every TSA agent is like this - I personally haven't had any issues.

You are speaking as if all TSA Agents act as a unit. I assure you there are decent people who work for the TSA who DON'T believe that the new measures are okay.

dude.....did you not read my post? The very last thing I said was:

Though I will admit that not every TSA agent is like this - I personally haven't had any issues.

and for the most part, those who I've heard complain about the TSA aren't complaining about the measures that are in place, but how individual agents mistreat passengers during said measures.

As a supporter of both sweeping generalizations and refusing service to people from a group you don't like, I approve this message.
