You should have to pass an I.Q. test before you can register at the Hype.:(

It was getting really theforce.net there for a second.:weep:

Just post the character you are trying to super-impose on these pictues, We can't help you choose a background if we don't even know what it is. And neither of those 2 are looking down a street shots like you mentioned in the first post.

Just TRY and draw it, forget coloring, if you can't draw it, than coloring it won't help either way. Draw the character, draw the background, post it and get feedback on how to improve it, fix it, color it, then get more feedback.

I drew a picture and I needed a city backround for it. I'm not good at drawing city buildings as if you were in the street looking ahead. So, I went to Yahoo Image Search for New York City and found a good one. I'm going to put the figure I drew on that backround. Is that like, bad since it's not my photo? I won't say I took the photo myself.

Please answer and thanks.

how did you draw your person, by hand or computer?

Here it is. I didn't want to spoil it. I'm kind of happy with the way it turned out. The feet are the worst part. I need to work on drawing them at that angle. I'm only good with certain ones.

Don't pay attention to the marks around him. I'll get rid of those.

Ok, now you see how stylized spider-man is? And you want to put that on an actual photograph? I know you like to do manips and all, but with all honesty, they end up looking rediculous.

First off, the two pictures you've posted would make no sense with how he is swinging. It will look even more like a bad manip when he is somehow swinging above every building or over water.

Secondly, draw the background. I know you don't want to, cause you think it will ruin it or whatever, but so what? You aren't putting this up in a gallery, you are doing it for fun and to get better. Just try it.

I'll only keep this up long enough for you to see it but this is how the other one turned out. I added the sun.
I only used a part of the original photo.

You are able to make it seem less awkward and it's good in that aspect. For what it is, it's very well done.

But the whole point of drawing something is to give it a unique energy and feel about it, even a simple background can give your own picture a much better overall feel than a photograph

(By the way, you can only get introuble if you use the image for profit or to be published, it's fine to leave it up, nothing will happen to you.)

Published? So that means I can't make copies and sell it?

Well, no prob there. Wasn't planning too. So you think it looks good? I'll still try drawing a backround. Coloring it is the problem.

You can't profit from it, nor have it published in a magazine or whatever for free.

As far as manips go, yeah it's good. Spider-man still doesn't really blend in with the background, which is the problem with doing what you did. He is, and always will be, a cartoon. So plastering him on anything but will look awkward.

You could always play around with the filters in photoshop, like the photocopy one. Then the background will look drawn-ish, and you just have to color it. It would match better, but still be alittle wierd.

The Ultimate Spider-Man covers gave me the idea to use a real backround.

The Spider-Man looks more real than mine though.
