Iron Man Shall we talk...S.H.I.E.L.D. ?

Forgive me if there's already a thread about this but I really, REALLY liked S.H.I.E.L.D. having such a presence in this movie.

I caught on to the "name game" after the agent mentioned it the second time and was taken a bit out of the movie trying to remember exactly what he'd said. I think the first time the agent said "Homeland" my brain associated it with Homeland Security and I turned the rest out. When Pepper shows up with the agents I all but screamed "THOSE ARE FRIKKIN S.H.I.E.L.D AGENTS!!!". It also wouldn't have been a stretch to think that they had the jumpsuits on under their suits.

The line at the end "...Just call us S.H.I.E.L.D." (or whatever it was) got a "wow" from the audience which amazed me. Maybe a covert government agency called S.H.I.E.L.D. just sounds cool to the comique layman

It begs the question as to whether we'll see S.H.I.E.L.D. agents chasing after ol purple britches next month?

Actually, I believe that it has already been confirmed that they WILL have a presence.

both times i went to see the movie the audience all loved the S.H.I.E.L.D reference...at first i thought whoa do they really all know who SHIELD is?

And for the record, I really like that they used Ultimate Nick Fury. Color aside. I mean, that Jackson was used as the template for U.N.F. just shows how badass the original character is. Not many characters (literary or theatrical) can kick@ss regardless of the race of the actor playing them.

I caught on to it as soon as Pepper said something like "you should really have that changed." (the name) and the guy replied "Yeah, we're working on that." So obvious. =)

I was hoping to see Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) in it... and I just looked it up on Wikipedia and he was in a scene after the credits???!!!! SON OF A *****!!! I hate when they do that!! DAMN.

Don't worry, I was the same. At least we're not too proud to admit it. I don't feel too bad, I usually catch on to a lot of things in movies really fast, so it's not a big deal if I didn't in this.

I hope to see them again, only in full uniform and on board the Helicarrier (or in the Triskelion) in IM2 and/or The Avengers movie.

LOL! I didn't get it through until about half way in the movie myself and yelled out: Hey..those are S.H.I.E.L.D. agents!!!

Since there isn't a forum for The Avengers (atleast not that I saw), What do you all think will happen with this? Ie, who do you think they will have in the film to start out with and who could possibly be the villain, or villains? Onslaught? Galactus?
