This is the best season, hands down.

What they're doing with Ian/Mickey is downright wonderful. I never truly liked Queen Fiona, it's nice to see her struggle a bit. Lip has always been my favorite...

In the end, I watch this show for the 'moments' of honesty and truth of the characters. In that, I feel like this season has been the strongest. I've loved all of the kid actors since the start but everyone is just nailing their roles/growth of the character this year (Carl, Debbie, and Lip and mostly Mickey).

The 'Shamelessness' got a little out of hand in 2 and went overboard in 3, but even an estranged daughter/native american mingle subplots are greatly outweighed by the humor, drama, and downright beautiful real-life interactions between family, friends, and lovers this season.

I still wanna know who Ian's "unsavoury friends" (as said by Steve/Jimmy's dad) are though, that's the only stone that needs to be turned for me by the end of tonight's season finale. Can't wait for that and the Game of Thrones première.

I would actually say that being without Ian gave Mickey the spotlight he deserves. He was really able to become a fully developed character with Ians absence.

And the show has been deserving of awards since the first season and yet it constantly gets overlooked. They deserve nominations in the Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor/Actress and best ensemble, hell best show-comedy as well.

I liked this finale the least out of any other, but it was still an ok episode. With so many emotionally taxing, jam-packed episodes this season, it's sorta hard to cap off the season without writing a series finale.

I have to say I'm not very happy with the reveal in the tag. I feel like the show flourished this season, more characters got a better shine from the spot light, and I feel we have the departure of that character to thank for that. Now that this character is back, I hope there's actually a new story to tell, and not just more of the same.

I can not disagree with you more. As I've always said Fiona tends to fall apart without him. The best storylines this season were Ian and Mickey, lip, and frank to me. I don't see how said character could interfere with that. I didn't care for anybody else's story one way or the other. They were just there with moments of humor or contempt. Either way I thought they were acted well especially Fiona, she went through a bunch of ****.

Last season he was trying him damnedest not to drag Fiona and the Gallaghers into his mess. The writers wrote him into a corner that barring some act of God he couldn't come out of without colteral damage.

Secondly I don't see him taking away time from the core family. However Sheila, Debbie, Carl, and frank eldest daughter could see less screen time. For a lot of them it would be for the better.

I thought it was a good season but it had some issues like Debbie. Her whole obsession story seemed so out of character. I always thought she was a smart chick living in the ghetto. This season they made her into another ghetto girl that will likely be knocked up by 16. Ohh god Sheila , those first couple of episodes where she was spending all her time at the Gallaghers and they didn't know what to do with her pretty much summed how the writers felt. Anything that will help cleanup some of that ******** is welcomed

Less Sheila is not a bad thing. They need to cut their losses on this character as her entire arc was stupid and her inclusion is this family is beyond forced at this point. Now she's Frank's wife, making decisions from him and keeping him from his daughter? How is this marriage even legal?

I might finally go back to liking Fiona as Ive hated her all season. She was a much better character [BLACKOUT]with him around and when he left, she completely went downhill. She loved him and he loved her and despite all the chaos, they were a good fit for each other. She is one character that definitely did not flourish this season. This season was about breaking her down and I hope next is about her standing back up. I feel he can help her with that. Hopefully she can go back to being the great Fiona she was in season's past

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. [BLACKOUT]JimmyJackSteve[/BLACKOUT] is part of the chaos Fiona doesn't need in her life. She's technically in recovery, the last thing Fiona needs is anything that dude brings to the table.

I didn't hate Fiona this season, as I think hate is such a strong word, it should only be used for characters like Sheila. I didn't like any of the choices Fiona made this season. I didn't like the pity party she threw herself. I didn't like her initially flippant attitude towards the consequences she faced. I did however love Emmy Rossum's portrayal of Fiona this season. She was dragged through the gutter this season. I don't want to see her on top of her game immediately next season, but I'd like to see her working towards that. Hopefully a part of her return to form will be her telling [BLACKOUT]JimmyJackSteve[/BLACKOUT] to hit the bricks.
