Iron Man 3 Shane Black to write/direct?

Hollywood, make this happen. Just thinking about Shane Black's Iron Man 3 gives me fanboy chills.

I've been so very scared about the status of Iron Man 3 since Favreau left, but if this new news about Shane Black being in consideration for IM3 is true...

I WANT!! I WANT IT NOW!! Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang is amazing, and honestly, one movie that I feel is generally underrated is Long Kiss Goodnight. Dude, I remember watching it and actually sorta liking it. And thinking Geena Davis is kickass.

Hope Marvel can snatch him up. I like that the guy spaces out his projects over the years. He's definitely due for some projects too.

I think the quality of Avengers isn't the main issue here. It's certainly possible any story threads may necessarily carry over to Iron Man 3. I personally think it's best to keep the stories separate, but I'm not Marvel!

Matt Reeves was my #1 too but Shane Black is also an excellent. Black created and written two of my most favorite action movies ever (Lethal Weapon 1 and 2) so I'd be excited to see him direct.

I've barely been following Avengers, but are you suggesting the continuities of the two franchises should be completely separate? Ie. the events of the Avengers have no effect whatsoever on Stark in IM3? Seems a bit stupid to me, especially as Stark is the main draw for the Avengers as it is...

As far as quality goes, if Avengers is badly received then peoples' desire for yet another film with Stark in it will be lowered. Still, IM3's prodiction will be past the point of no return by then.

Sure it may have an affect on IM3 but not to the point where the next director won't know what the hell's going on. Its not like Avengers is going to end in some cliff hanger.

People have been saying IM2's "bad quality" would hurt its home video release yet it out did part one by a couple of million on it's first week. So your negative predictions are for s***.

Whoa, I'd never heard anything about that 'till you mentioned it. According to Wikipedia, that was just her claim when she sued him, and he counter-sued claiming she was the violent one. But that was in 2009, so I guess it's behind him...
