Shazam General Discussion and Speculation - Part 2

As long as they fight and Superman falls to the Cheese's magic, I'm okay with it.

 

Hope it's true but not gonna get my hopes up just yet.

 

It’ll be a team up or a scene between the pair, they ain’t gonna be fighting

 

Makes perfect sense to feature Superman in this movie.

Shazam! drew in the younger crowd, was light hearted, had family vibes... superman has the potential to further that audience for his own, I mean, what kid doesn't know superman, what parent doesn't associate superman with that cheesy super hero feel.

Tweak what needed it from Shazam! for the sequel - reintroduce superman - show us superman being lighter, approachable.. mentoring Billy. Almost as if we have Billy be the Jimmy Olsen style character, spiritually. We see Clark interact and show him his DP persona, how he does it and why.. we see superman through billy's eyes as he meets him.

Then, this movie sets up superman for a new set of movies and we have seen the evolution of sorts from snyderverse to more mainstream appeal.

The last thing they would, altho it is WB, is to have superman yet again be the opponent!

 

Well Variety is saying Cavill isn't in it...but that could change.

It really annoyed me that they used official DC march for the movie..it's very meta, but in a lousy way. Like they may have well said 'oh Bruce Wayne looks like the dude off Armageddon.

I wish in universe, they had their own take on the logo's of these heroes. How did a t shirt company get to know the exact chainmail type pattern of the shield? Kryptonian technology... like, surely it be a cruder, raw version, it's not as if Superman struck a deal with hot topic...

They could have done something fun... it just felt cheap - especially in the toy shop.....

 

LOL, deja vu over this Cavill cameo news/not news.

 

There seem to be SO many mixed reports on whether HC is/isn't involved in the sequel. Not sure on his future as such, my take on it all is that he'll skip Shazam 2 and be in Black Adam for an extended cameo.

As I understood it, Henry would make 2-3 smaller appearances in pre-established films within the DCEU then following the 'take' received on ZSJL (which in turn I think will create, by it's sheer volume, debate on if the DCEU goes back to Snyder's trajectory, will the popularity force WB's hand in their direction ?) and then a stand-alone MAY follow for Cavill.

Given the title of the sequel, that may inform whether he plays a part or not.

I am currently watching Shazam and I just remembered that this is a Christmas film lol and a damn good one at that.
