Hey, Billy I like that Superman Reborn vid, were did you find that?

Reborn is the work of SuperHeroHype's very own forum member:WormyT

That Superman Reborn vid is incredible.

Thank you sir.

I don't like Welling for Supes.

Hey! Had Warner Bros. cast routh in Smallville than I would be on his bandwagon.
Smallville tell the story of young Kal'El whom grow up to become :supes: .
The WB should have cast someone who look older than their television :super: product. I can and will move on from the FACT THAT "WELLING" will NEVER become THE MAN OF STEEL. Until they put a MAN in the uniform, I'll never support their (SR) product. IMHO, The WB has two Superboys in the market place. Welling the only boyish looking Superman for me.
WB should have cast an older Welling look alike, not a young Reeve look alike to portray the film version of their :super: product.
Piggy backing off Smallville or Superman the Animated series was the direction to go. Those two products reintroduced :supes: to the market place.

The problem with that is Welling is TVs Superman, and Routh is film Superman. They aren't the same and never will be. you don't see anyone complaining that Christopher Reeve looked didn't look enough like George Reeves, because they are two ENTIRELY SEPARATE INTERPRETATIONS OF SUPERMAN. By the way, Christopher Reeve was about the same age as Routh when he first donned the suit, so take that as you will.

EDIT: Yeah, and see what you guys did now? This thread is now totally about Superman, i knew this would happen...

Welling is TV's Superboy that should have became the film SUPERMAN.
People did not complain about George over Christopher because Christopher Reeve just owned the role.
Besides George Reeves' TV program and Christopher Reeve's film was not out in the market at the same time.
George's :supes: was in the 50's. Christopher's :supes: was in the 70's.

Not unless they started the movie with Welling punching some reality wall, turning the reality of Smallville into one where Lois Lane and Lex Luthor don't recognize Superman as the same man they had seen so many times without glasses.

No need for that, Clark disappear for years in the Fortress.
When he reemerge they would have forgotten how CK look without bifocals. :cwink:

Hey people there's nothing to worry about Jake isn't up for Captain Marvel.

I think Routh looks older than Welling personally. If Smallville and SR were related - then I would agree. But I don't think a Smallville movie would of been the best way to go either.

Yes Smallville nails a lot of things - Rosenbaum's Lex Luthor is incredible and the best version of Lex probably ever written, but there is a lot of crap in there too. Crap I wouldn't necessarily want involved in a big screen Superman.

You win at life.

I cannot see Jake Gyllenhaal as Captain Marvel. Looks too small.

Maybe, he could be a nice Spider-Man though.

No matter who they choose to play Captain Marvel, all points that this movie will be no more than a joke.
Which is a shame, because anyone with half a brain and with some decent knowledge of who Cap is, will come to the conclusion that you can make a hell of a movie based on him.
A very serious and complex movie, with the light motif of the hero being a kid.

But no, bet your ass that this has "crap in the making" written all over it.

And just to had my 2 cents on the casting debate....

Dwayne Johnson is a lousy choise for Captain Marvel, but a hell of a perfect one for Black Adam.
Dwayne Johnson look Egyptian, hence Black Adam and not Cap.
More even, to cast someone younger than 35 for the role of Marvel is stupid, and just states that you don´t know crap about the Big Red.
And the rumour of Gyllenhaal for the role (27) just shows exactly that...

Not all movies have to be "serious and complex" you know? This is one I definitely don't think should take itself to seriously. Yes, they should definitely take the character seriously, sure, but that's not the same thing.

This is something I think they should just have fun with, while staying true to the nature of the character at the same time.

Answer me this, you want comic book movies to actualy be about the characters, who they really are at their core, what they are about and all that, or you just want a fun movie with special effects?

If you choose the first one, you can´t run away from serious and complex, because that´s what comic books are...as long as you understand what your reading.
If you want the second....well, fun and special effects are inherent to the genre...
A movie just about that is just sad, and the characters deserve much more...

great point, I want the movie to be what superman returns could have been, face it with cap you can be cheesy yet serious and action packed.

Ask yourself this question, and if you can answer it, you will not ask again why make a serious and complex movie about Captain Marvel.
Bare in mind that you will still have that light hearted feel going on, because he is just a kid.

-When Billy Batson, a 14 old kid, says the word "Shazam", he find himself transformed into an adult superhero.
Who is that adult form he turns into?
