Well, the Rock isn't so dark skinned. Ans if they turned Jessica Alba into a Caucasian, blonde and blue-eyed Sue Storm, they can turn Dwayne into a light skinned Captain Marvel.
Mr. Johnson is tanned skinned, not dark nor light his completion is perfect (IMHO).
Many folks here will be laying in the sun this summer, trying to achieve that completion.

This is getting waaaaay off topic.

Please, stop the flames. Billy, you might just want to leave race and stuff out of it. Trust me, its only making things worse.

So, shall we be constructive?

Wellsy, I have never made race an issue.
Forum members, whom hate my casting choice of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, are the ones with the issue.

Remember what happened the last time they changed the race of a superhero? We got Catwoman, the greatest superhero film ever made..
:wow: Catwoman a superhero?
I miss that memo. :csad:
Psst! Two words for you, Eartha Kitt.

Race DOES exist you know, and as that poster was trying to say before he was so rudely attacked and his "racial prejudice" was implied was that it would make no sense to have a white kid transform into Samoan Super Hero.

Your are absolutely correct, that is why I like this young man for the role of young Batson.

Mr. Noah Gray-Cabey

I admire your optimism about The Rock, but come on. Why would a white kid imagine himself into a Hawaiian (or whatever the Rock is)? They ain't going to change Billy's race. That'd take huge balls!

The same reason why you imagined being your favorite superhero.
How many non white Peter Parkers, do you think are running around scaling walls?

Don't worry I didn't take offense to your statement. I am black by the way.
Kool! :word:

i think Molale could play Bizarro. :O

still working on that Fraser/Rock manip :hyper:

Have you read the latest Catwoman comics??? She's pretty heroic now.
Was Eartha Kitt Catwoman in the Batman film? No... she wasn't, but if she was, it would have been better.
Brandon Molale as Captain Marvel, I can see. He looks exactly like Alex Ross' CM.

...Billy if your not gonna stop impling we're racist because we want a faithful CM would you please leave? I mean now your just acting like a troll for the Black Panthers.

Essentially, Noir hit the nail on the head Billy. You're defending your choice on race, and not trying to stay true to the character.

Believe me, we should keep an open mind on ALL comers - Johnson ain't CM or BA yet. Quite frankly, I'd like to see some unknown step in as CM (and let Johnson have Black Adam - the hero turned bad is something he could do, because he has the look of a hero, but his actions are twisted by his grief etc, which would make for a cool and complex villain).

Brandon Molale for Captain Marvel and the Rock for Black Adam. Molale was awesome in Mr. Deeds. he can act.

I can't even think of this guy's acting (I've seen Mr. Deeds, but don't remember anything about it, really), but based on look, he's got it. Then bring The Rock in as Black Adam and we've got name recognition. The Rock needs to put some of his old muscle back on, though.

The Rock is nowhere near as big as he was as The Scorpion King... he needs to hit the gym again before Black Adam

Me? I'm staying completely out of the whole race thing: There are no happy endings when you go there!

wellsy, you've hit the nail here! Do like Singer and cast the relative unknown for The Big Red Cheese, leave the rest of the casting for the name talent.

FYI - I never suggest The Rock for Captain Marvel.
When rumors for this movie began Mr. Johnson's name was brought up for CM.
I thought that would be the wrong move.
Then I had a dream about the film and it Rocked.
From that point on, I had a hard-on for him to play the role. :cmad:

I see dead people. :cwink:

I'll say. Its almost certain to be someone who overhyped the rumours.

They haven't even got a script ready; casting now would be stupid. Trust me, that ain't gonna stay that way.

I'd actually be in the market to see The Rock play Adam strictly because, with the exception of his horrible CGI turn in The Mummy Returns, Johnson has never had the opportunity to flex his muscles in anything other than a good guy role. Like Arnold with his first run as The Terminator, I think it'd be a great risk to take. He looks the part and I could definitely see someone with Rock's old-school heel nature pissing off a theater audience as opposed to what he used to do when he pissed off arenas full of crazy wrestling fans. The casting choice for Molale looks pretty good, physically, that is. I'd have to watch some more of his work to get a gander for whether or not he could hold up the acting end of things, though, before I'd give my stamp of approval. Besides, in the end I'd like to see Black Adam be a bigger, meaner villain opposite Cap. And The Rock would be my money choice because he can be very imposing physically.

"No, daddy no!!"
Hahahahaha, I enjoy that from Mr. Deeds :D I know Molale can nail it being Cap Marvel for sure ;)

I say Johnson for Black Adam. He looks exactly like the character. Leave Billy for someone else.

Didn't the director say Capt. was a 28 year old in an interview?

Also, they need to change that cape. It looks stupid.

Blasphemy! Captain Marvel with his cape draped over one of his shoulders is like the big iconic Captain Marvel image. I think this is something even Billy and I can agree about.
