Well, that's how Spielberg handles aliens interacting with humans (ET). I don't much like it either...it doesn't break the mold.

Love Bumblebee in that clipt: i didn't think Prime and co came off as idiots just as Bots wanting to get on with getting what they came for,the comedy is in shia's reactions to the craziness of having Giant robots in his garden

I don't think they were being cast as idiots at all in that scene. To me, it's like walking around my six year-old's room. Stuff is so small and it's everywhere. You're bound to step on something.

I don't think they came of as idiots either. They are ona new strange planet where everything is so small, so negotiating around somewhere as tightly compact as a garden is bound to be difficult (you should see me in my nephews room). Besides this won't continue throughout the whole film and definitely won't be there in the sequels.

it seemed to me like Prime didn't know what Sam meant by "bath"....just a misunderstanding (fish out of water). not idiotic. they're not Earthlings and they're not mind-readers, so there's bound to be miscommunication despite the robots knowing English.
