Shipping List for Feb 6th (In Memory Of Our Banned Brother in Fandom)

I don't remember if Wolverine was in every issue.

I have X-Factor-related information, but I can't decide if it would satisfy my sadism more for me to tell you or for you to find out in the next issue of X-Factor...

what if i twist my nipples and send you a video? Would that be sadism or transferred masochism? hmmm.....nipples

er, so what exactly did photojones do?

As he was prone to do, I think PJ pushed Eli's buttons one time too many by telling him he should butt out of a comic book related thingamajiggee and then made fun of Slacker Mike and that was that...

:o :o :o

:yay:

Well, it is annoying, and I don't think that the rest of us should have to bother doing it. If you're gonna do it, do it right. PJ would have done it. :(

I guess what he's saying is, "I know PhotoJones, and YOU are no PhotoJones!"

Poor Dan Quail...you never hear from him anymore.

So it truly was just because of a personal feud? Not surprised, but damn. I'm not fond of the mods' new obsession with deleting conversations that they just don't like. It's like hiding the evidence or something. I think everyone should be allowed to judge the contents for themselves.

Really, it wouldn't be such a big deal if PJ didn't make up a good 3/4ths of actual comic book discussion in this forum.

I think he only makes up 1/4th of the good comic book conversations around here...

And I believe this might have been the post that broke the camel's back... as we can see it was Dew k.Mosi and NOT Eli...

It may seem harsh (by the mods) at first, but add that comment to the many that PJ had dished out over recent years, and the mods can only take so much, y'know...

I don't know about "good" conversations, but as far as actually and consistently discussing comic books here in the Marvel forum? Yeah, I'd say PhotoJones pretty solidly made up more than fifty percent of posts.

Which is why all the "hay why don't you guyz stop derailing:cmad:" whining was bull from the start. Between him and the usual suspects, there's more discussion about comics than all of the whiners combined.

That's not a good reason at all

. No rules were broken whatsoever. You can't just not break rules so many times that you suddenly break a rule.

I'll just politely agree to disagree with you, because you obviously liked the endless pages of inane chatter that more often than not went beyond comic book conversation.

Methinks if you tell the mods to go f^%#^%ck themselves so many times, you might get your ass banned.

Compared to days upon weeks of dead air with no one around save one or two newbs asking about shipping dates or making "hey can someone fill me on on what's been happening?" threads, I'll take the chatter interspersed with page after page of Thor or Spider-Man discussion.

If people didn't like it, there was an incredibly easy solution: post more.

But he didn't do that. By no stretch of the imagination was that an out-of-line insult. At worst it was the exact sort of impersonal criticism that gets said every single day to every single poster on any variety of subjects which, y'know, I thought was just fine.

I have to agree with TMOB. I like PJ and all, but most of that chatter was just that: chatter. If people dig that, that's all right with me. But I spent a fair amount of scrolling just to find topics again. And he (or Corp, or Darth, I forget) pretty much admitted in a thread once that's how he kills a thread he doesn't like. So let's be honest here.

The Derailments is really the best thing about the comic forums. We've always done this. This is why I come here. To talk comics for a bit, then crack a dik joke every once in awhile.

But if PJ provoked the Empress, he f**king better shoulda known better.

We can actually say dick, y'know.

To which I again reply: the alternative is the dead-ass void upon oblivions otherwise known as the DC forum.

Yea,that got pretty annoying, every thread was littered with chit chat for a nice 3 to 4 pages.Others do this as well, and it's pretty sad to be honest. Are people that lonely that they gotta make small talk on comics boards?Who knows, maybe this bannage will let Photo get some sun.

In the meantime, all this speculation is getting out of hand, let's get back to blasting JQ for raping our childhoods, complaining about Secret Invasion and laughing at how sucky the X-Men are

I know, but I like typing dik. It sounds the same and it's less letters.

But that's not true... I've been at these Forums for many years, and this "derailement" phenom is something new within the last 6 to 12 months. Otherwise, there has ALWAYS been good comic book conversation around here. :word:

If people want to chat, then create a "Comics Chat Lounge" instead of making people who are actually interested in the Thor thread to not waste 3 pages in a row of "non-Thor & non-comic" talk...

I'd have no problems with that...

:yay:

Hmm, I join in on the chatter, but you know what? I've witnessed some pretty good comic discussion, involving PJ. A lot of the derailments are sparked by something we see in previews or decide to bring up from comics any way.
A matter of fact, I recall a number of conversations started from OMD, since...y'know, some people use real life examples to argue points or defend the actions of a certain character.

You trying to say something about me, chief? :cmad:

I never admitted anything of the sort. Mostly because it's not true, but also because I tend to shy away from self-incrimination. I'm an American, damn it. :o

Seriously, though, I don't derail threads purposefully because I dislike them or anything. If I disliked a thread, I'd steer clear of it. I read like half of what Marvel publishes, so it's not like I'm lacking other things to talk about. Derailments for me just tend to be natural digressions in the conversations that spring up. If someone posts something on-topic in the midst of a derailment, I'll usually go back to the topic. Derailments tend to continue simply because no one else is talking about anything on-topic, in my experience.

I can't help but love the irony that is on display.

Gotta agree here, I'd post more in the DC threads but no one says anything and it gets boring quick. Everyone gets off track, but you can always just post to get it back on track. I'd rather have too much chatter on these boards than too little. If I have to actually scroll down to find a point I'm interested in commenting on, I'll make that sacrifice.
