The Matrix is one of my favorite movies of all time. It's an amazing movie. The Matrix Reloaded is definitely not as good as the first one but I still enjoyed it. The Matrix Revolutions isn't good. It's messy and boring. Do you think a fourth Matrix movie should be made? And if so, would you go see it?

I think the trilogy is awesome, the wait in between movies stoked peoples expectations to undeliverable heights, but if you view it kind of as LOTR, 3 movies that are really 1 long film, it fits together pretty well. Each film offers something different and I might not care for every single scene but I don't think the sequels deserve as much flak as they get, though I can see why.

I don't know where a fourth movie would go, but I would be there opening day for sure.

The two sequels were bloated to the point of ruin by filler...then the series ended with basically a reset. There is no reason to trust the series any further, so I would wait for the Netflix on any new films set in that universe.

Do I think it should happen? No.
Do I think it will happen? No.
Would I see it if it did happen? Yes.

Hell no. They've already pissed on the original enough.

I say expand upon the universe and give it to different directors. The only real quality stories we have had since The Matrix has been The Animatrix.

There is so much more to be shown and told about the Matrix

At this rate, the franchise has been satires, parodied, copied, and the sequels left a bad taste in most people's mouths. It wasn't until a few years ago that people remembered how good and important the first film was.

Unless they have a fresh, unique take on it, it'll come off as a relic of a certain era. It doesn't help that there isn't anything going on with the franchise, unlike let's say post 1983 Star Wars where they still had toys, books, video games, and comics to keep people invested.

I'll say no.

There shouldn't have been a second or third movie.

:o

The problem is that the sequels, while kinda enjoyable, are unremarkable. Just like how I feel like the Pirate sequels, where the first one was such a bit of a game changer.

I don't think the last 2 should have been made. The last one was so bad I almost walked out.
That being said, they might as well make a 4th one now, there's nowhere to go but up from the last one.:oldrazz:

I would definitely like another film. However, I do NOT want a sequel. They already did all they could with that story.

Any future films should deal with the creation of The Matrix, the fall of man/rise of the machines, and the previous versions of Zion and "The One".

We'd all go see another Matrix film, but I think they should simply let it be at this point.

Sure. I think those too stupid to realize that the second and third Matrix films describe a Matrix within a Matrix will probably say "NO WAY, 2 and 3 were so bad! D: DONT EVER TOUCH IT AGAIN AHMGAHD"

But anyone who actually understood the sequels should acknowledge that the story isn't over. A fourth is not only possible, seems necessary to finish the story. Neo and Trinity would be missed but Morpheus could come back as a/the lead role. His last line of the trilogy being, "Is this real?"

Well, Pirates 2 wasn't exactly unremarkable, Kraken and Davy Jones alone were worth the price of admission, then you had an excelent cinematography and soundtrack, the film had flaws, but having recently rewatched the film series, it's quite close to the first movie when it comes to quality.

I'm up for more Matrix movies, when the last 2 films came out, as well as Animatrix, it was a big deal, i'm not sure this is a franchise that can automaticaly go back to the state it was 10 years ago.

I'd love to see a 4th film.

Trinity would be dead, but Morpheus would still be around and on Zion. And Neo would return. . . . . . . .

Judging from the sequels the creators have no clue how to top or even match the original.

So no to a fourth film.

How about a sequel to The Animatrix?

Most people hated the sequels because they were dull and loaded with padding. You could edit them down to one film and have a much stronger movie.

But I guess it's fun to pretend you're smarter than everyone else.

Also...an actual resolution would have been nice.

One can interpret Matrix 2 and Matrix 3 as describing a Matrix within the Matrix but that isn't necessary and it's actually less intellectual than it's pretending to be. It adds a layer of complexity to the mythology without making it a better allegory, it actually makes it a lesser allegory. I go by the interpretation that the robots and zion are the real world, and that the Matrix has become unstable in spite of Neo and Smith, just like Capitalism can become unstable in the real world in spite of its stabilisers.

I Like Matrix 1 and Matrix 2, they're good action movies, they're very true to the late 1990s, and they deliver a good analogy about mature capitalism. The third one is a pure action movie pretending to discuss the merits of super-jesus, it was too long, it felt like a Peter Jackson movie.

I personally like the sequels, though the 1st movie is still the best, I would go and see another one for sure.
