Checked through, couldn't find one like this...

So...

Anything about the Matrix Trilogy can go here. What did you like the most? Did you think Hugo Weaving was the best performance playing as Smith? Or do you like Neo or Trinity or both?

The Trilogy:

The Matrix
The Matrix Reloaded
The Matrix Revolutions.

And I suppose these as well:

Enter the Matrix
MxO (The Matrix Online)
The Matrix - Path of Neo
The Animatrix

i really liked the animatrix. especially the episode that explains why the robots revolted against the humans.

I've never seen the Animatrix...

My favourite scene of the Trilogy is the Burly Brawl... heh heh... Neo's quite handy with that pole...:woot:

Awesome trilogy that includes two very underrated sequels. The Animatrix was also pretty spectacular.

See my username :D
And no , it's not because of that ghost character . It was insprired by Ghost In The shell damit

ANyways , yes the Matrix Trilogy IMO is the greatest trilogy of all time. Great action , great storyline that i always use to find new things. It introduced me to alot of different things in my life so it does have a big impact for me.

Oh and not be a pooper but we did have some matrix discussion here :

I think there was too much focus on zion in the last two sections. As well as the whole robot war on it at the during the last film.

We also don't get to see the matrix itself as a threat as all the threatening aspects of it in the last two films are taken away

the agents are no longer a problem
mr smith is independant
all the key characters are independant except for the architect who really doesn't do anything other than clairfy some of neo's choices
keymaker was indepedant
so was the french dude
those white ghosts etc...

and those sentinels don't provide the same level of fear as those terminator exoskeletons do.

It just took the edge of the whole 'we're not in the real world' aspect of the film.

more of the film should have actually taken place within it, especially in the third film, the subject itself is only lightly touched upon.

there are also a lot of things hidden there which would be good if you managed to read up about them since you would be able to get something new from them each time (i'm talking more about the sequels here, the first one is fairly simple), so it does have a repeatability factor there IF one was willing to put the time into it.

The trilogy should have stopped with the first one :p

Wouldn't be a trilogy then would it?

 Class time:huh:

TRILOGY

From TRI meaning three.

There is no BILOGY, or MONOLOGY, TRILOGY is where it starts, then QUADRILOGY, then SAGA.

Class dismissed :woot:

First was great.

Second was wtf.

Third was ok.

I like dark city better now having finally seen the "father of the matrix." this year. Check it out if you haven't.

The problem with these films, which becomes even more obvious in the sequels, is that the formula is this; Neo stands and listens to a character explain their philosophy to him. Action scene. Neo stands and listens to a character explain their philosophy to him. Action scene. And so on.

Save for the Matrix Revolutions, which was more Philosophy than action, I think.

The first is a bonafide classic and i liked some of Reloaded and felt the trilogy could still be saved until i saw Revolutions:csad:

The Final Battle was the only good bit of the last film, but I still think the Smiths could have swarmed Neo... he fought 1000 in the Burly Brawl and barely got away... this is 6.5 billion Smiths.

Have you read the original script for Reloaded?

Agent Smith 2.0 in place of Smith. He had a ponytail and was more burly.

Neo tried blowing up MetaCortechs, his old workplace, because his boss was still in there :woot: , no, he tried to blow it up because it was the Machine Mainframe, which was relocated after Tank was dropped from the casting to...

#this would be the part someone finishes the sentence#

dark city is ****ing hardcore...

too bad it came out before the big old technological boost, the first matrix came at just at the right time to capture the booming sucess of the internet and the captive imagination of it all.

I really hated the all CGI squid battle ending, the only part i liked was the club sequence with Monica Belluci's boobah's in a gargantuan struggle to get out of that leather dress.......oh and the shootout was a cool watered down lobby riff

The first is a genuine modern classic.

All down hill from there.

I love the Matrix Trilogy. It's extremely underrated, in my opinion.

You're an idiot. Please look up your facts next time you try to correct someone.

The first was amazing and one of my favorite movies ever.

The second one just plain sucked and is basically unwatchable.

The third one is just pethetic.

DarkCity is a bad movie IMO. It's cheesy and Kifer Shutherland gives one of the most embarrasing performances of all time.

That was probably the best part of Matrix Reloaded... along with Neo flying at warp speed to save Trinity. Well, those were my favorite moments from that film anyhow.

For me the Matrix trilogy ends after that spectacular freeway chase, where they save the key maker, I thought Revolutions was one of the worst movies I have ever seen, and was really dissapointed with the final duel between Simth, and Neo, I thought that was the worst hand to hand fight scene in the whole trilogy.

First one is gold though, and Reloded has some value to it.

Totally! I couldn't agree more! The first third of Revolutions is spot-on (not to mention it's the only time until the end that takes place IN THE MATRIX!!).

But that battle at the end...:( ...it just wasn't what I wanted to see in my Matrix finale.

And while I did initially HATE the interpretation of Zion in Reloaded, I quickly grew to LOVE the second one!! It's beyond me, the hate and loathing that movie has accumulated?!?

The 20-minute Castle/Freeway action scene is one of my favorite sections in the whole trilogy!

Revolution is the most CGI filler movie I've ever watched, it bored me and put me to sleep. The only thing I even like about it was the end battle.
