No,leave the love interest stuff out,it would actually inprove the franchise.
I don't want her. I like Felicia, but I think her presence would undermine the credibility of the movies & just look like an attempt to steal Batman's thunder.
I would go that far; but hey, that's just me.
I can't fathom why you think that. :facepalm
I don't want to see a girl introducing herself as Felicia Hardy and X-Men had a love triangle all through the movies no wonder Scott Summers is dead Ratner probebly didn't like it so he killed him off Sam has to realize if he leaves for one movie some main person might dieOkay-I'm confused. Why yes to Cat & no to Felicia, and how would it be like X-Men?
I thought I made it clear; 1-Black Cat comes off as Catwoman-Lite (for good reason); Catwoman is a part of Batman's franchise, therefore it would be viewed as them trying to steal something from Batman. I wouldn't be surprised if, should she be brought in, uninitiated moviegoers mistakenly refer to her as "Catwoman".Chris Wallace, I understand the reason why you feel the way you do; but, that still don't answer the question, why "her presence would undermine the credibility of the movies & just look like an attempt to steal Batman's thunder. How? In what way?
From my POV, she is what she is. She is called Black Cat... what else do you expect her to wear or look like. The audience or paying movie goer, understands there is a difference between Black Cat and CatWoman. They understand one is exclusive to Spiderman and the other to Batman They have understood these differences between the two since Black Cat character existed. You underestimate the audience ability to discern the difference... as if they cannot fathom the difference between Aquaman and Sub-Marina, Green Goblin and HobGoblin, Riddler and Joker, Venom and Carnage... ok, I might have gone to far, but you get the jest of it.
Black Cat is what she is, does what she does, that's how she been written for decades; I don't see why she should be ignored because of some similarities. As long she serves a purpose, which is alot more than I can say for the likes of Sandman and Venom. However, there have always been some similarities between some of Marvel characters and D.C. characters... like Chameleon and The Question for example.
So, you have yet to explain how she will 1) undermine the franchise and 2) attempt to steal Batman's thunder. Batman is its own entity.... Spidey can't steal anything from that franchise.
I hope to hell that SONY and MARVEL executives see this. This is exactly why Black Cat on screen would help to promote the next "BATMAN" movie, and make "SPIDER-MAN 4" look like it's starving for some BAT-MAN-MOJO. Black Cat is a CATWOMAN rip-off, nothing about these character say...we're different. The thing is, Black Cat is the poor ass replica of the real deal. Who ever created this character should be punched in the FN mouth!You can't at all? Really? Okay, let me illuminate;
Cat-themed criminal with a heart of gold has the hots for the hero. Wears all black leather & has claws on the end of her gloves. Even if you take out the criminal aspect & make her a hero, she still comes off as "Catwoman-lite".
At best, she's this.

Or maybe this.

At worst, this.

And I VERY seriously doubt I'm the only one who'd see this comparison.

That's an oxymoron. It would definitely double it. Instead of one love interest, now we got two, two for the same man in fact. It's like Days of Our Lives, or "One Spider-Man to be" or some kind of soap opera or something.See if you bring her in as a love interest it would definitely downplay the romantic factor that sm1,2, and 3 had
Ps - the action sequences between the two would be amazing especially seeing them weave between buildings. WOuld be sooo cool

really, though, at the time that Blackcat first appeared, Catwoman (in the comics) didn't look like that, she was still wearing the purple dress look
it wasn't until later that Catwoman started wearing the black suits
they may of developed in to similar characters over the years, but, they didn't start out that way, so, it isn't really far to call her a Catwoman rip off
After the debacle that was Spiderman 3 I think they should leave out a love interest completely. Thats one of the only things that annoy me about the Spiderman franchise. I understand Mary Jane is a very important part of the Spidey mythos but to make Parker a whiny little ***** really sucked balls. NO LOVE INTEREST!!
i have no problem what so ever in bringing Black Cat into the francise at some point. I think she adds a new element to story telling that we have not had after 3 movies with Spiderman. The next thing some of these people will say is they don't want to see Electro because they saw Doom with the same powers in FF. Its ridiculous. There are always new and inventive ways to establish stories and character development for these plots. So, in essence I am all for it.Chris Wallace, I understand the reason why you feel the way you do; but, that still don't answer the question, why "her presence would undermine the credibility of the movies & just look like an attempt to steal Batman's thunder.
