Thought this would make for an interesting debate just to see where the fans stand on this... obviously they are probably going to make six movies... however we don't know exactly who will be involved. This is just to see what the fans would prefer?
If SM4 is the last and Lizard is the villain... it won't match the action of its prequels... that's why I am hesitant to want SM4 as a finally if its just Lizard and maybe Kraven... you'd need to pair them with another major villain in there... maybe Electro, Vulture, King Pin, etc... just to make it comparable to SM3 action-wise... even Lizard/Kraven/Black Cat is no where near Sandman/Venom/GG2... so that's a big problem with SM4 as the last one with Lizard as the main villain.
SM 4-6 with a new cast would already lower expectations so you really wouldn't need to go over the top in terms of story and action just to match or out do SM3 as a followup... that way you could outline a new trilogy as I have in my sig... I'd like them to do this...
Recasting after SM4 only would be a mistake IMO becasue you run the franchise into the ground... all of Raimi's original storylines would be tied up and the GP would lose interest by the time SM 5/6 role around... rather I'd like to see a new take from SM4 on continuing with what Raimi had going on... rather than doing a contained 4 movie story and then doing two more movies that won't really translate well as continuation of Raimi's set of films.
