Should Hulk Get Another Solo? What would it be about?

Should Hulk Get a New Solo film?

  • Yes, it should be based in space.

  • Yes, it should be somewhere on earth.

  • No, but he should be a main side character in a film much like Black Widow in Captain America 2.

  • No, Hulk should be in Avengers films only.

So what does anyone think about this? Do you think this is evidence that they are making a solo?

I have a feeling there is gonna be a solo Hulk movie. I hope The Leader is the main villain.

Yeah, the leader seems like a good bet. They could even keep it secret until it is revealed later, similar to Thanos.
It can look like there are just people going after Hulk and hulk stops them, but then in the end you can see The Leader was in charge of it all.

Hulk is kind of boring in solo movies but beyond awesome in the Avenger team ups.

So wouldn't you like that to change?
YES, he has been boring in the past, but if you know CBs well you will know that they can make VERY epic solo movies if they do it right.

More news.
Though I warn it is a spoiler to AoU (I think)
Mark said in a IGN interview:
"I think there's a lot of places to go with [Hulk]"
Ign: "Space?"
Mark: "Well he's going to space. Yeah, I mean there's some talk of maybe Planet Hulk"
IGN: "Would you like to see that?"
Mark: "I'd be completely interested in entertaining that."

More confirmation that Marvel is at least talking about doing a lot more with Hulk!
We all know that Hulk is not likely going to be in GoTG 2, as James Gunn has debunked the idea. Which means either they do a lot with Hulk in infinity wars, and possibly make it based a lot around him, or they make a solo.

Yes, and I stated that in the first post. :)
They also didn't have rights to Spider-Man at one point.
Basically there is a lot showing that they have plans to do a Hulk solo if they can come up with a good deal to present to Universal.

Or they can combine Hulk with another movie & skip the solo. There are ways around stuff like that

Exactly! I think they probably have plans with a solo, but if it doesn't work out they probably have plans to shorten/skip through the hulk movie and have him show up assuming something happened in-between. Or they might have plans to bring up the story later, or just never have it happen.

I was recently thinking, and this was a wild idea, but what if they made it so that Banner could control Hulk enough that Hulk wouldn't get so big and powerful, so that that he would be more street level size. This is just a wild dream of mine, as I first started loving the hulk from the 80s series, where Hulk was more of a street level hero. I then thought that it would be cool if Hulk was the one who was going to be in season 2 of DareDevil after something like this happens.

Hulk could find something that would allow his anger to be limited at a lower amount, and then find himself meeting DareDevil.

The reason I thought of this was purely because I had heard of the DareDevil crossover hero rumors right when I was thinking of Hulks future in MCU rumors. To my surprise I soon after9 on the same site I found the DD rumors) I saw an article talking about The Trial of The Incredible Hulk, in which Bill Bixby as David Banner/Hulk met Matt Murdock/DareDevil. I watched it and loved it.

Obviously the idea is more of a stretch in the MCU, but it is a wild idea. :p

Whatever happened to Betty Ross,

Like seriously, when I saw the relationship between Hulk and Black Widow, I was like why didn't Banner go back to Betty? And I would like to see Liv Tyler in another MCU movie.

Of course He should, he's an unique, amazing character in all comicdom. It's just a matter to get him right, like they did in Avengers, and, in this case, to get the distribution rights back from Universal, which is probably the biggest issue.

Actually when I thought about it I think the reason for that is because Marvel may not have rights to other characters in the Hulk franchise. Hulk can be used in team up films, but I don't think other characters can be... maybe I'm wrong though.

Some food for thought:

*Spoiler warning*

I think it'd a very interesting place to see Hulk next.

Of course, I'd still prefer a Hulk solo, but eh, I'll take what I can get.
Mind blown.
That would definitely be different for Hulk and VERY different for spiderman. I do think spidey would be better off in NY for now... butt hey can easily do this for a movie some time.
I wouldn't mind it, but I don't feel like it would work as a spiderman movie, as spiderman has so many other things to do. I think if they get Hulk rights then they can easily make that his solo, and then spidey can co-star. I don't know anything about this kazar guy... I have heard the name though.
In the end this would be great as long as it doesn't steal spideys spotlight at all.

So would people generally like to see hulk in the savage land?
I personally don't mind, but just as long as spidey stays home for a bit. Maybe we can have spidey go there first, but he needs to get back quickly if he does. :p
Also, don't read that article if you haven't seen AoU. IT IS A BIG SPOILER! I haven't seen it and don't know why I thought it would be fine. XD As long as you don't read his speculation, and don't watch the video on the page, you should be fine though. :)

Hulk's my favorite Marvel character, but sadly I don't see a Hulk movie happening in the near future. Bruce Banner is a tragic and complex character and that doesn't mesh well with Marvel Studio's family friendliness. A decent portion of the Marvel audience think that a witty quip per minute is integral to quality film making and that's not going to happen in a Hulk movie. Maybe things have changed following TWS and Marvel is willing to try a new direction, but I'm not convinced. Still think that canning Edward Norton was a mistake.

There's that too. Actually, Bruce Banner and the Hulk are complex characters, and their dynamics is so much more than Hulk being Banner's ''age monster''.

I think they can do the complex character of hulk in a solo without it being boring. They might not have humor every two seconds, but I think we have seen marvel doesnt always need humor. A better example than TWS is DareDevil. DareDevil had little humor, but the character complexity and the well made plotline made it so fun to watch. The little humor it had was more of "look he said a cheasy joke" kind of humor. This was good though because Matt is not a super funny character. The humor that was actually good humor mostly came from Foggy, not DD. This may be key for a Hulk movie if they want a lot of humor. Having a side character who has humor. If he teams with spidey they would get that. Otherwise hulk and banner have had their share of funny lines in the avengers movies, so even if it isnt too comic accurate hulk can show his sense of humor. So having less humor is not going to ruin it, and they can have humor if they want to use humor. The character complexity will grow and show who banner is, without a horrible actor acting as banner, and it will show his relation with hulk and how he gain and loses control over hulk. Personally I want them to show more character to banner than just his emotiins towards the hulk and his problem.

I want another movie on Earth, of course. The Planet Hulk storyline is something that I don't even think should be attempted right now. Hulk needs more Earth based stories first, imo. He has a lot of good villains that we've yet to see.

True. Something with the Leader must be done first.

I want to see Betty again, I want Bruce to confront the leader, and I want some insight on Bruce's early years (before the Hulk) that explains where a lot of his anger comes from (basically canonizing a lot of the dad stuff from the comics), before he gets sent into space.

So yeah, no Planet Hulk please.
