Should I buy a cooler for my 360?

Does anyone know if this is a worthy purchase?

It will help... don't get the Intercooler, apparently it has problems.

I got this $20 fan that doubles as a vertical stand, never failed me yet

I've never used one, and I've yet to have a problem with my launch system.

The key is to make sure you keep the system (and it's power supply) well ventilated.

I've read that using a cooling fan for the system, since it's powered by the XBOX360, robs the system of power needed to keep it running, and therefore can actually increase the chances of system failure. Also, using a 3rd-party cooler for the system voids the warrenty if something still does go wrong.

No cooler for me.

So there's the intercooler and what's the name of the other one you have?

Well great, now I don't know what to do.

How do you do that exactly?

If you get the nyko cooler that clips on the outside, it'll give you a ton of benefits with no drawbacks. The innercoolers (which require you to pop the system open to install) do void warranties, and can increase problems.

Gotcha. Thanks.

The clip on one has a habit of exploding and killing your X360.

- Set your system on a hard surface, NOT carpet.

- Set your system vertically and have all sides (other than the base of course) at least 2 inches away from anything else. Those vent holes are covering the system for a reason. Keep as many of them open to the air as possible.

- Do not set your system inside a cabinet. If you must, always keep the door open at all times while the system is running.

That's really all there is to it. Pretty common sense stuff.

I've heard nothing but complaints about third party coolers. most say the Pelycan fan stand (which, as the name say, serves also as a vertical stand) is better than Nyko, specially when it comes to the connections.

I've had better results with speeding up the internal cooler. it gets a lot noisier (though, with time, you get used to it), but it drops the temperature of the console dramatically to the point where it doesn't even get hot, just slightly warm.

it's a gamble, but since where I live the warranty is invalid (the console's an import), it was better for me.
