Should I get Xbox 360 now or wait for PS3?

Ok people. I was just offered to have a 360 bought for me. I said no thanks. I am a Sony guy, and I want to wait for the PS3. I want it because Sony always had a better game selection. I was told from somebody that the PS3 isn't what it seems, and it really can't do what it is said to do. "The processor and game engine isn't what it should be", "It burned out in a refridgerator because it couldn't do what it was supposed to do", etc. I am very impressed with the Xbox 360, and I really want it, but I want the PS3 more. I can wait for it, but..................






Ok, I need some opinions. In your opinion, should I get the Xbox 360 now, or wait for the PS3?

I asked that same question before I got a 360. Than I played the COD2 demo, the following day I bought a 360. I was hesitant because I was "Sony" guy but when I heard it wasnt going to come last spring, and the price tag I quickly became "BILL GATES HOMEY!!!"

I'll tell you now, that about half of the board will say 360. It really depends on what you want. If you can, I'd go for both. I'm a Sony gal and I wouldn't pass up a free 360.

BOTH.........GET THE '360' NOW (IT'S FREE, FOOL!), AND GET THE 'PS3' NEXT X-MAS, WHEN IT WILL LIKELY HAVE A PRICEDROP.

I know it's free, but my Dad offered to buy it.
He'd mre than likely buy both, thats why it's hard.
I don't want to ask for 360 and PS3.


....but since PS3 is 600, I'd more than likely wait a year, but then it'd be 500.

And Dead Rising looks pretty sweet, although it could become boring really fast. And so far, every PS3 title (save MGS) looks like ass. So I'd say wait a while.

I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND WAITING MUCH MORE THAN A COUPLE MONTHS. THE FLOOD OF GAMES THAT'S ABOUT TO HIT THE '360', FROM SEPT. TO DEC. , WILL LIKELY MAKE THEM A HOT......IF NOT SCARCE......ITEM, AGAIN.

Because of the price tag, I'd say a 360 and I'm not a MS fan. Then like Thwip said, buy the PS3 in a year when they price drop happens.

Or do like I'm doing and wait for a Wii.

Those Gears of War shots are old, and from way back when the engine was running off of only one of the Xbox360's three cores. The game looks noticeably better now, even if you're not a tech-junkie.

I say tell your dad the price tag of the PS3 & then do hte math & add in how much 1 or 2 games will tally up the price & of course the extra controller etc. If you really think he will get you both then give your dad first the low down on the PS3 & let him decide. But as THWIP said there will be MANY MANY must get GAMES coming out for it soon. Starting with

I'm a big Nintendo fan and was originally going to get a Wii and PS3 (to succeed my GC and PS2), but that changed after I saw the price. I love Kingdom Hearts and God of War, the only remaining franchises on PS2 I like (Jak ended, Ratchet started to suck w/ Deadlock).

I'd say get a 360, doesn't matter when. It has so much that makes it worth it. The arcade games are pretty good, Live is incredible, and there are plenty of worthwhile games out now (GRAW, Oblivion, COD2, etc.). If you were like me where all you had to do was re-play some old game, I'd get a 360 now.

I've spent nearly $700 getting a premium 360, GRAW, COD2, Play & Charge Kit, and Network Adapter. That's to give you an idea as to how much you'll probably spend in the beginning. If you were getting a PS3, you'd be spending that much for the console and 1 game.

For the past weeks I've been working on completing hard difficulty settings on COD2 and GRAW and have been playing KOTOR (which is another thing, there are some good BC games if you don't have an Xbox). If money isn't a problem and you have nothing else to do during the summer, get a 360.

BTW, the 360 controller is WAY better than the PS2/3 controller. It's comfortable, the analog sticks are pretty resilient (they get worn out very quickly, and the guide button is very useful. My only complaint is the d-pad b/c its not like Sony or Nintendo's, but you'll rarely use it.

Also consider that you have a chance to get a free 360 right before many of the big games hit. No better time to get a 360 then this

I'd say wait for the PS3 until next year (2007). If your a Sony guy, you should just wait for the PS3. The 360 doesn't look like it has any good games coming anytime soon. I don't like the price tag on the PS3, so you should wait, because I think that Sony may drop it, if they don't get sells like they want to.

What are you talking about? The 360 only has, what, Halo 3 coming out for it? My friend has a 360 and he says the games suck for it and that all the games are already on the PS2. The 360 is not a true gaming system. I would say the Wii will be. PS3 will have the games, heck, God of War 2 will blow the 360 away, and that is a PS2 game. Next time back up your words on your post and give me reasons why that is the dumbest post.
