Should Kerry apologize for his comments about the troops?

what's on record, though? all you're doing is claiming he lied without explaining what he lied about and how it was proven.

"Do you know where you end up if you don't study, if you aren't smart, if you're intellectually lazy? You end up getting us stuck in a war in Iraq. Just ask President Bush."

Speaking as a Democrat - Yeah should he should definitely apologize. And while some feel this is a "small" statement, I don't. It was highly offensive to our nations military, almost as bad as Bill Hicks cracks about being "stupid to want to join the army".

While they may be an employer of last resort to some, many education people go into the army for a variety of reasons. It's noble and self sacrificial to join any of this nations defense agencies, all the way up to the FBI and CIA. And to imply that a lack of intelligence is why you end up in the military is deplorable.

is this what you consider proof that kerry lied? is this guy actually trying to claim that american soldiers didn't committ war crimes in vietnam? we all know they did. not all of them, mind you, but quite a few were accused of raping women, burning villages and killing innocent civilians. he was just attempting to point those out to make a point that we were losing our souls as a nation in that war and that the pressure of it was driving our troops to disturbing actions. i've seen republicans try and twist it into making him seem like he was anti-military or a liar or whatever, but it's all just petty attacks with no basis.
