So what, pigs will fly when Bush apologizes for anything honestly. Now the democrats, especially Howard Dean, say the same thing. If you've read their campaign talking points they said "honesty" and "accountability" were one of the things they want to bring to Washington. So prove it, prove it now. I know it's not a big thing, but you cannot handle something small like this...a simple apology for having diarreah mouth...then why the f*** should I trust you with the big things. At least I know Bush and the Republicans f*** up and lie and cheat and steal. The devil I do know in that case.

Imus was right "just stop talking and apologize". Just stop the bullsh**, this stuff drives me nuts. I am not going to defend Bush, but that doesn't mean I have to defend Democrats either.

I don't care what Bush does, the discussion here is not "Bush should apologize". It's about Kerry. Look at you all falling for spin, I mean goddamnit. "Kerry you should apologize for that", and Kerry replies "Hey look what Bush is doing". That is exactly what Bush does. Kerry should not do the same crap.

ahem!
John Kerry said:
"I sincerely regret that my words were misinterpreted to wrongly imply anything negative about those in uniform, and I personally apologize to any service member, family member, or American who was offended"

I do think Kerry is going about this terribly wrong.

What would be so bad about him saying something like:
I botched a joke and to all of the troops that I may have offended I'm sorry. I certainly didn't mean what I said to be about you.

Plain and simple no matter WHO said what Kerry said I can see it being taken as an insult by our troops. Of course he didn't mean what he said but he should apologize to those it offended.
And he has apologized... to those too dense to realize there's nothing to apologize for.

Thus, any further ranting and raving over this overblown nonsense is nothing more than spin or the result thereof. Hell, the man isn't even a f**king candidate! It's ludicrous that this is headline news. Shame on the media, the politicians (pro and con), and anyone else who honestly gives a crap. :o

I didn't say democrats shouldn't apologize. But this was a successful smear campaign by the right. Mostly every reporter and politician who attacked Kerry knew his words were taken out of context. It should have never reached this level of publicity.
Dude I cannot believe you believe they were out of context. Here is the context.

"We're here to talk about education, but I want to say something before...You know, education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq"

That's the context...does that sound like a jab at Bush:huh: ...seriously.

Can anyone remember the last time a Democrat apologized before Kerry's just now?

John Edwards was the first Democrat to apologize for voting to go to war with Iraq. After that several others followed suit. I don't recall any Republicans doing the same, but I could be wrong.

I am sure it is on youtube...those people there are fast as hell.

oh, but for your benefit, Mexico is NOT the 7th richest country in the world.
it's not even in the top 20.
so, revising my post, first get informed, then you can say whatever you want, other you'll look like an idiot.

And what I find to be even more amusing is that even if that remark was directed at Bush, it's already been established that Bush did better in college than Kerry. Which is why I seriously doubt it was directed at Bush. That and Kerry's already troubling record of insulting those who serve in the military.

It was a botched joke.

What Fox News won't tell you is Kerry was trying to make a "tough and honest joke" regarding President George W. Bush and that he "meant to say that he can't 'overstress the importance of a great education' and, 'if you don't study, if you aren't smart, if you're intellectually lazy... you end up getting us stuck in a war in Iraq.'" According to the source, Kerry inadvertently omitted the "getting us" phrase from his remarks.

- paraphrased from wikipedia

Now do you see why his apology was only made necessary by a right-wing smear campaign?

Wow...that makes your country look even better. For you to be making fun of another country's political situation and have your own government in shambles is hilarious.

I'm not going to look it up and give exact quotes, but last year Kerry accused our military of terroriizing "kids and children". Before that, back in 1971, he accused his fellow soldiers of raping and pillaging in Vietnam.

He has a record of disdain for the military, whether he "served" or not.

I can't believe you all come to his defense. He is the WORST representation of the democratic party and yet you people STILL come out and defend an indefensible action. It's just amazing.
