really...still annoys me

DC can't even be content with one version of Superman's origin, Marvel shakes up things quite a bit, but rest assured Peter Parker will always be from Queens N.Y. No worrying that Ironman wasn't a Alcoholic or Beast was an Avenger etc..Marvel is a pretty consistant Universe.
DC is the one who needs to have a 'Crisis' so now Joe Chill killed Bats parents again and Jason Todd is alive because of 'punches' at least bucky's return made sense and doesn't do away with over 30years of continuity.

I hate how DC fans always ***** about Marvel's continuity, and how it's so inconsistant. Thats the reason why DC did Crisis, they kept the stories they liked and changed the things that they wanted to. DC fans are such hypocrites sometimes.

I've been into comics since 1990 and all I used to ever hear was how Marvel was always the best at continuity and DC was always the worst.
It's only been since I jumped back into comics in 2002 that the roles have been reversed. Marvel's continuity has been horrible and DC has had some of the strongest continuity that I've ever seen (See all Infinite Crisis tie-in's, miniseries, and epilogues).
I hate this DC fan/Marvel fan crap. You mean to tell me that...YOU CAN'T READ BOTH COMPANIES?!?!You have to choose one or the other?

Well, I like both companies and like characters from both. I like Spider-Man and Batman equally...both my two favorite comic book characters of all time.
And Marvel's continuity is horrible. See House of M. It's only been in the past 6 months or 4 months that Marvel's continuity has been becoming tighter.
The Spider-Man books were horrible for this. One second he had organic webbing and the next minute he's got the webshooters on. There really doesn't seem to be too much communication between the creators at Marvel. It's like each writer and artist are going off into their own little tangents on the characters and not making ANYTHING click at all.
However, DC is the opposite. The creators are in constant contact with one another and work well together...making sure they have a cohesive unit. It's why something like 52 is possible for DC.
Could you imagine Marvel making a weekly series that lasts a year? HA!! It'd take five years for it to finally finish!!!
I'm not a DC fan and I'm not a Marvel fan.
I'm a fan of comic books. And sometimes you're going to get bad...sometimes your going to get mediocre...sometimes your going to get good....and rarely these days you might get something fantastically classic.
But I feel sorry for the people who have to cut themselves to either Marvel or DC. I find it ridiculous and stupid to not read a comic company because it's the competitor of the other. Both have great talent and great characters...spread the love around and maybe you'll discover something NEW.
MyPokerShirt said:For someone who's fans of both you just laid into Marvel big time while praising DC. not exactly balanced urself, areya??

Frankly, the opposite - being a fan of something and ignoring all it's faults, or being a prima donna and abandoning the second there's anything you don't like when before you were a big fan - is more hypocritical, IMO.
Anubis said:So stop reading Spider-Man. It's an overrated character anyway.
I agree with Eli.
B.U.M. said:So if you dont buy them, do you really have any room to complain?

I'm still gonna shell out $17.00 bucks to go see the SM3 movie.
My concern for the state of Spidey is no less valid than yours.
SpideyInATree said:B.U.M. does make a good point. You're a big fan of Spider-Man but you abandon the character and don't buy his comic book because something happens that you don't agree with or want to see happen in the Spider-Man mythos.
And then you go to the book store and read the title for FREE, without paying for it, and THEN further complain about it?
I can understand people being upset with the character while they're laying down the 2.99 for the comic book. But you're reading the title for free and if you really care that much about the character and support him/her...then why don't you just buy the book?![]()
But, of course, you think that if you don't buy the book and others follow suit that whatever you don't like in the book will change. And maybe it will work. But it usually doesn't and the only person that gets screwed is you, yourself, and you.
Anubis said:I wanna speak on the situation we got here. It's been a situation her on the Hype, and maybe throughout the entire Internet (at least for things concerning comics and not porn or celebrities.) for awhile now. Ever since Disassembled really. You got these fans, that were burned badly by what went down during this event. (in there minds at least.) They were for the most part, loyal Marvel fans. Just like any other fanboy really. But certain events got to them. Made them stop and take a look at the company they had spent so much time and money on. And what they found, was the company was lacking. So, rather than abandon comics all together like many did during the Clone Saga, they simply checked out the competition. What they found when they got there was everything Marvel was supposed to be about. Continuity. Character interaction. Deep emotional, involving stories. None of this lame 2 dimensional characters they were always lead to believe DC had. And you know what? They liked it. They really liked it. But they were still, at heart, Marvel fans. So, they looked at the state of Marvel, and then looked at what the competition was doing, and it pissed them off. Hell hath no fury like a fanboy scorned. (again, in they're minds) So they began to bash Marvel. Everyday. All day. Every chance they got. They're bitter. And it shows. While I can see they're point, I can't relate to it. Why? because, I never went for that company bulls**t. So, I'm detached from the whole thing. Truth is, I don't really care about the state of Marvel. All I care about is whats a good read. And there are still quite a few good reads coming out of Marvel. Really, the vast majority are good reads. Anything that sucks, well, it doesn't really exist for me, because chances are, if it sucks, I'm not reading it. But, like I said, I understand they're anger. Or rather I know that, it is the inevitable outcome of the company fanboy. You might enjoy whats going on now. You might hate it, but still tolerate it out of some blind sense of loyalty. But someday, "They" will go too far, and you'll be pissin and moaning just like the rest of these guys. It's not a very good way to read comics. There's so much more out there than what you limit yourselves to. Once you abandon the company system of reading comics, you'll get a lot more out of it. You'll stop being Marvel Fans, or DC fans, and you'll become a Comic book fan. But whats the point right? I might as well be preaching about world peace. There will always be fanboys. And they will always argue. And truth be told, this site would be boring as hell without them.
