Homecoming Should Peter's Love Interest or Friends know that he is Spider-Man from the Get Go?

Do You think they Should Know?

  • Yes, but only his love interest.

  • Yes, all of those closest to him should find out.

  • No, it's suppose to be a secret!

  • Maybe some people should find out.

  • The Whole World should find out in Cap 3 Civil War, so it hardly matters if there close to him.

One of the things I thought that The Amazing Spider-Man did well was that Gwen Stacey learned that Peter was Spider-Man fairly quickly in the story. Do you think they should do the same here, by having some of those closest to Peter learn his secret early in the story or even already have known his secret identity when the movie begins?

I'm okay with Peter telling Gwen as a close friend. It seems like something a teenager would do. They would have to have that "tell each other anything and everything" relationship though. It adds to how strong their friendship is. The reveal scene has a lot of comedic potential as well, if set up properly.

Did we need a whole thread for this as it could have gone in the love interest thread. As foe topic of question bo. I d9nt want love interest to know already he is apidey. I love to see him having to sneak out of romance stuff to be spidey and play off that stuff.

Ya what's the point in dual identity stuff we know marvel wants to play with. If all know already. Personally only ones who should know are cap, tony, and maybe 1 or 2 other avengers. Then over time norman and harry after battle with them. And then only others who should learn of who he is is eddie brock via the symbiote, and if we ever get to miles warren. Any love interests should only learn of his dual life at a later stage.

I don't want him telling anybody. I'd be fine if they went the comic route and revealed Mary Jane knew all along.

Nah, I'd prefer it if he at least went one whole film where no one knew his identity.

No. It should be a secret from everyone.

He shouldn't tell anyone. Period. If anyone finds out, it should be against his will.

Well avengers members should be the only ones as I said above. And certain villains. No one else in my book. Cause that just destroys the whole how to keep it secret hijinks we could see in film.

Oh if Cap, Fury or Iron Man know that would be the exception.

It should remain a secret. But a nice reveal one or two movies down the line that MJ and Aunt May knew the whole time would be fun. But not in the first one.

Well kevin has talked about it being wanting to play duality and the struggles of being a hero and a teen st same time. I doubt may or any friends will know. It will likely just wither be the whole new avengers lineup or just a few avengers who know.

It'd be nice to go back to Raimi's Spider-Man 1 and 2 of no one knowing who he is, bar villains.

I miss the idea of superheroes actually not being known by people. The Avengers literally are all known as who they actually are.

By the end of his first movie at latest, Aunt May should know ( or "not know, *nudge*wink*" ). If his romantic subplot reaches serious levels, she should also know. If anything, he has far better reason for keeping his identity secret from professional coworkers ( like the Avengers ), than from his *own family*.

Yeah, the isolation and feeling like no one understands is part of the teenage experience.

Honestly to me it depends on which characters are in the movie for example if the supporting cast consist of characters like a 616 MJ,Liz Allan, Flash Thompson & Betty Brant I'd rather they keep his ID secret. But if they have say MJ more like her ultimate comics version I'd have no problem with her knowing right from the start of the solo or finding out quick.

Yeah, the isolation and feeling like no one understands is part of the teenage experience.

If he's isolated and "no one understands me" because of his own stupidity, this is just going to make the audience hate Peter Parker.

id rather someone find out on their own... then peter tell them.. he shouldn't really be willing to tell people...

i dont want may or any friends to know. Again kevin has said he wants to really play on secret id and struggles of being a hero and being a normal teen. If everyone knows you lose all those aspects to play off.

I liked the fact that Gwen knew early on in TASM.

If Peter's secret identity was revealed in the movie, I only want it to be to someone else. Gwen is the only person I can think of (thinking about how well it worked in TASM and Peter and Gwen's friendship in Spectacular) but I doubt they'd want to retread that ground.

I have a feeling that no-one will know and that they'll really play with the fact that Peter's struggling with his dual identity.

yeah, i want no one to know so it's a big deal when someone finds out
