I don't know about Canada but in the UK (well maybe not Northern Ireland) the police don't carry guns unless they are on a raid or on patrol in a known Evil Place! (Well actually all of Northern Ireland is an Evil Place so it could be true there too but, well...)

I'm all for "gun rights" and all that, but I just think that with the parania out there and teachers screwing their students and all of that, you'd eventually see 3 or 4 or 8 or 10 innocent (or not) students get shot to death at school by a teacher!

And what if the student overpowers the teacher with the gun...what then?? The more I think about it, it wouldn't even make a bit of sense to arm teachers...100% No.
