I don't see what the harm would be in a LGBT lounge. I don't really post in the current lounge thread because a) the topics never interest me, and b) I find it hard to jump into the conversation. It'd probably be the same with the LGBT lounge, though it may be easier to jump into the conversation.

Also, if this is created, religious zealots probably shouldn't be allowed to condemn homosexuality or open up a debate on it whatsoever. Obviously, the intention is for the LGBT community to post there. We don't need to be told that we're 'living in sin' and so on and so forth. It just wouldn't be very polite.

Any thread that focuses on one group of people to discuss stuff will automatically have people bombarding it just because they feel left out. That's just how it is. Gay/lesbian topics will get discussed, but so many people will go in just to be a-holes it almost wouldn't be worth it.

I wouldn't have a problem with it at all, but you have to ask "At what point does it stop? What special interest or lifestyle groups get their own 'Lounge' and which one's don't?" Personally, I don't want to see two hundred different "Lounges" tangling up the Community forum. I think you lose a certain amount of integration and sharing of perhaps uncommon viewpoints and ideals thereby offering up learning experiences and interesting exchanges that would otherwise not happen were everyone segregated to their little sub-culture groups and spending more time in those sections rather than interacting together in general as they do now. Just food for thought.
