We've had many discussions about a thread like this in the past and I think it is long overdue that someone start one. Similar to the Female Hype Members thread, this will be a place to discuss issues and topics related to, but not restricted to, the LGBT community. And since there are so many of us on the Hype!, the discussions should never fall flat. ;)

Here is Wikipedia's definition:
LGBT (also GLBT) is an acronym referring collectively to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender/transsexual people. In use since the 1990s, the term LGBT is an adaptation of the initialism LGB. In modern use, the acronym relates to the diversity of gay culture.

NOTE: This is NOT a chat thread and should not be treated as such. Please refrain from posting "Hey, what's up?" or "Hey!". Keep that in the Hype! Lounges.

a watch is so the straight girls response at any guys gift... that or a tie... it's like straight guys always getting a girl a jewelry piece or perfume. all boring gifts

Kinda agree with Spidey. I wouldn't mind getting a watch from my Grandma.. but from my boyfriend?

yeah... unless i specifically pointed out a watch i wanted... that i reallly wanted or felt i really needed (having no other watch). then yeah... a watch would be ok, but otherwise it's a pretty bland gift

The first Christmas with my ex I got him tickets to Chicago. It was his favorite movie and he had never been to a Broadway show before.

Apparently its what he wants, the only thing that puts me off is that I've put more thought and effort into gifts for other people. I might go shopping in London and see if I can find anything better.

yeah, do something that feel right to you. gift giving imo should make both parties feel good about it.

I'm basically Scrooge though, I hate buying presents. It's just so much effort to get myself in debt. It wouldnt be so bad, but my family is HUGE. I'm not at all in the Christmas spirit.

I love giving gifts. :atp:

I enjoy giving gifts too, its just the stress that goes into gifts that makes me miserable. Maybe its different with other families, but with mine its just full of politics. Then of course after the stress of gift giving there's the stress of family arguments. A couple of years ago I had keyboard thrown at my head. And yes before anyone asks, I was one of those kids that sided with the Grinch.

I am pretty much so-so on Christmas.
I insisted on not getting anything for Christmas since my parents already paid for my quarter in college and my mom bought me a laptop but they refused to not get me anything ... so I just pretty much went for cheapest way possible, clothes.

Stumbled upon my ex last night at a bar, it was the very first time we saw or spoke with each other since we broke up. He kept saying me to shift focus on him instead of talking to his female friend and how he misses me because I don't talk to him anymore. Dude, you left me..now get used to the consequences.

:csad:

I went Christmas shopping today. I didn't find anything for Oliver yet, but I did discover shopping is more fun when accompanied by friends and alcohol.

Creepy Santa. :(

Speaking of which, I just made this:

I saw grandpa kissing Santa Claus . . .

I actually love that, it should be a Christmas card or something.

Haha, that would be perfect.

And he has the means to break into any house without ever getting caught, dear god!
