Sequels Should there be a stand alone Mystique film?

I'm all for it.It's probably the only way we'll get the story of her giving birth to Kurt.

Yes! Exactly what I would be interested in seeing with a Mystique film! Also a good way to introduce a new Nightcrawler into the cinematic universe!

Now that would be cool. It would be good to see her transformation from early assassin to full fledged essentially mute badass hench woman.

In DOFP she seems quite independent, so seeing what happens to make her so subservient to another would be interesting.

I can't believe how many Mystique haters there are. Maybe should could at the very least show up in the next Wolverine film

I think it's more Jennifer Lawrence haters more than anything.

It's ironic. You have an Oscar winning actress given the chance to star in a CBM (where most bemoan the lack of female led CBM) with a rich storyline to play with and nobody is interested.:whatever:

And for the record, unless this is X-Factor, I don't see this happening. For once, I feel like there should be more X-Men team films and solo films distract from that when you consider that X-Force, Alpha Flight and X-Factor are often far more integral to the franchise than solo series and the team dynamics are the best part of the X-Men and what makes them special.

Why settle for just Mystique when you could have Mystique, Gambit, Rictor, Multiple Man, Siryn, Layla Miller, Forge and Polaris at the same time? Taking five or six of those nine for the roster and then greenlighting the project works. So does making Mystique and Gambit the stars of the show. It consolidates two proposed solo films into one which saves time and money and it also allows lesser known characters and actors to appear supporting them.

And when compared to Disney or Sony, Fox really does have the easiest time with regards to universe building because they do have these teams. Sony has all of one license while The Avengers are a collection of heroes who normally operate independently but come together to face down the big threats. Fox's strength is the ease of introducing characters since they're a collection of teams that all have a specific purpose that unites them.

I agree that X-Men characters for the most part work best as a team, but there are still certain stories where it's best to let a character partake in their own journey, apart from too many other mutants. Maybe one or two other mutants can make cameos but I do think it helps build the franchise and give it more depth as a whole to do solo films if the story is right.

Sorry but I think most people prefer ensemble movies compare to solo films. Just compare X1/X2/X3's box-office performance to Origins/The Wolverine. Why waste the effort to tell a story of 1 mutant when they just could release a movie featuring a team of mutants.

Frankly, they stand a better chance of getting a smaller number right. In most cases, the big team movies focus on one or two with a few supporting parts and the rest in brief cameos.

But as for Mystique's film,I'm sure they'll have some supporting characters as Mutants.

Yeah supporting characters that shouldn't really be in the movie, like Gambit in X-Men: Origins Wolverine.

With these spin-offs, chances are, they would include a well-known X-Men character in the movie just to get more interest/money even if that character doesn't have to appear in the movie in the first place.

And I think it also comes to the writer, I think there were some cases that they just included another mutant just for power display but if the writer is really smart and cares about the character and knows the potential of that character, the writer wouldn't just use him for 1 to 2 scenes.

As usual, you're projecting your fears when you have no basis to do so.

No basis? My basis is what happened to the previous X-films. Its not like I didn't give you an example.

if someone here that doesn't have a basis, thats you and your assumptions.

Nah... we don't even have a writer for Mystique nor real news about a Mystique solo flick. It could be X-Force.

Who's the writer/director for Gambit? That means less than nothing. Fox is going to release some kind of female led X-Men movie to combat WW n CM. And they have the #1 Female Action Star in house.
