...in the sequels. I mean what made the movie so special is that we got to see some of what Bruce did while he was away from Gotham. With the next movie probably based solely in Gotham, it may have a different feel to it.

So, if it's pertanant to the story who's up to see more flashbacks of Bruce Wayne over sea's before he dons the cowl?

I would say no...while they were pretty interesting to see that stuff in the first film, I think it ran its course and I'd definitely prefer them sticking to 'present day' development.

Nah, I don't think we really need to see anymore of that part of Bruce's life.

It would be nice to see some more flashbacks of Bruce's childhood, but since the kid who played him in BB will obviously be too old to reprise his role, I'm not so I'd want that either.

If flashbacks were going to be in the sequel, I would like to see Bruce reflecting on something his mother told him which ends up playing a part later on. If not, atleast one about his relationship with her.

As for his seven year disappearence, I'd say no. We've already seen in Begins all that we needed to. However, I'm hoping we'll see more of the detective skills he's learned during last months from the events the first film ended upon. So maybe a recap of how he trained his mind of knowing how to depict a crime scene, or evidence left behind by a criminal (mainly Joker or Black Mask) would work if done properly.

I don't see how they'd be relevant, except maybe a flashback showing Bruce training as a detective.

If it was used in cases similar to BTAS (where it introduced us to a character), then it would be fine, however just to show how badass Bale is? No.

I disagree, throwing in flashbacks just to introduce characters now would seem almost...too gimicky. There was enough back story layed down in BB2, there is nothing really we need to learn about Bruce's training.

Cmon the sequel will not be an extension of batman begins. So no to flashbacks.

I hope it is an extension of Batman Begins.

No thanks. It's just not interesting to me. I mean the sequels have to focus on the Joker and Harvey Dent/Two-Face.

I think (and this has been said) that the flashbacks should pertain to Bruce reflecting on his past, particularly something relevant to the plotline. They made it pretty clear that he wasnt doing much before he met Ra's.

I'm thinking you see Batman get locked up. Then a flashback to him practicing with magician, Zatarra (who is strictly shown as a Copperfield type, rather than real magic). Of course, since Ducard has become an alias of Ra's, there probably won't be too many flashbacks of him outside of the cult's house.

They usually did a pretty good job with flashbacks in the original BTAS, making nthem relevant and to the point.

I don't really think it is necessary, but could see it work if they showed him practicing detective skills. The only person i could see ever beign introduced in flashbacks now would be dear old Leslie.

I wouldn't mind them, but I think 2 should have a more urban feel than Begins did.

I actually think it would be pretty cool.. plus - any reason to get Liam Neeson back in the picture!

As long as they don't overdo it - don't want it turning into an episode of LOST!

I think itd be interesting to see but not necessary anymore. The sequels need to push the Bruce Wayne/Batman foward, not backtrack on past things.

I dont really see a reason to. Joker, Two-Face, Black Mask, and Penguin are the villains rumored for the next few movies, and neither would need some sort of flashback to introduce. What could he have done during his time away that we would need to see to enhance these next films? I just dont see a point.

They could flashback to his early childhood though, if Black Mask is a villain. Also to introduce Leslie Thompkins.

I would like to see Bruce's memory with Rachel after she got killed by the Joker. Have bruce sitting in a chair reminiscing the good times she had with rachel as a child

if any flashbacks are included i'd want a younger Bruce kneeling at the grave of his parents.

a flashback of Bruce and Harvey at Princeton together perhaps?
and something with alfred being a father figure to Bruce as he is growing up.
that's all though.

Them going to school together was a B:TAS invention. I'd prefer if they go the comic book route of Harvey being a friend of Batman, not of Bruce Wayne. Besides, Liev Schreibers a bit older than Bale, so they couldn't have gone to school together. (SCHREIBER DAMNIT!!!)

it was just a suggestion, and i also agree with you about Harvey being a friend of Batman's not Bruce's, i thought maybe Harvey could dislike Bruce and have his bitterness of Bruce start at college? just a suggestion.
oh and of course...SCHREIBER DAMNIT!!! :)

I like this idea, and can see it working out well if it indeed happens. The way I imagine it happening is that Bruce meets Roman after years since their fathers knew eachtother, and the flashback could then play it's part. For Leslie Thompkins, Vanessa Redgrave should be cast for the role.

I'd like that a lot. The trilogy should tell two stories simultaneously -

Bruce becoming Batman
Batman ssaving Gotham

It doesn't have to be more of him and Ra's, perhaps him at Princeton, or his becoming a criminal (could parallel with the Jokers crimes, shoiwing Bruce breaking the law himself)
