I heard Collider talking about this and I was curious as to what others thought. The idea is that Wonder Woman should be the front, the lead of the DCEU moving forward, ala Captain America in the MCU. I don't know if Cap is the lead or not, I still think it's Iron Man, but I see what they're saying. I think with Batman and Superman being in the mix, it would be interesting to see them take a back seat to WW.

I still feel the best version of this franchise has Supes leading the show however.

I doubt it. Were Wonder Woman not doing as well as it is, I doubt anyone would say make her the lead. As far as the MCU comparison, Cap is probably the lead on the battlefield since he's the soldier, but Iron Man is very much the face of the MCU. Or at least, Tony Stark is. Wonder Woman may get more prominence, but I doubt she's going to end up being the face of this universe.

It's always going to be Batman because he's Batman. Even though all he really has going for him is some gadgets and some athletic moves that would be useless against any
credible threat that Wonder Woman, Superman, Flash, or Aquaman faced. I guess the idea is he is smarter than everyone else or has a more take charge personality.

No -

WW is a great character, but not a general or a team leader.

Batman is ironically the only one who would have time (aquaman has atlantis to run.), and the leadership qualites (robins).

Should she be the lead? Yes, because her movie and performance is far better than any of the alternatives so far.

Will she? No, because she's not Batman. No amount of plausible disaster or unsuitability will convince WB that Batman isn't their crown jewel.

No, Superman should be if there has to be one. But ideally all of the Justice League members should get their fair share.

No. Wonder Woman will never be bigger than Batman. Mark my words.

Yes, I think WW should not only be the lead character of the DCEU, but Gal should be the face of it. She has the most personality, has displayed the most heroism and courage and is the one who seems to have resonated most with the general public. This Batman and Superman have not so far, especially Superman.

I think WW has centuries more experience than any of the rest of the league.

This version of Superman hasn't displayed any real leadership abilities, and is probably the least charismatic of the DC characters who have shown up so far.

Where did Collider talk about this? Is there a link to the video?

I can see the DCEU having Batman and Wonder Woman as the leads just like Iron Man and Cap are.

I would not support any iteration of JL where Superman isn't front and center.

He is the natural leader and foundation of the team.

In the comics maybe. In this universe so far, he's more like the remote alien figure and muscle. Unless they seriously change his characterisation, he doesn't seem like the one to lead the team. It should be someone with more humanity and heart and whom the general public relate to rather than fear.

So you won't be supporting the new film?

Touche.

There's an excuse though this time, he's dead.

A full blown JL movie where Superman plays sidekick to WW just wouldn't sit right with me.

Sidekick? That's probably too high. How about lackey? :o

Superman and Wonder Woman should both assume leadership positions. Batman not so much.

Batman doesn't seem fit to lead if he's going round branding people and even trying to kill Superman. He can just be a tactician and resourcer.

There's no need for a single lead character. The trio of Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman have always been the centerpiece of DC adaptations. That won't change.

right now there no one fit to be leader.well at least ww stay in her character and not be unlikeable those two guy who fight each other beacuse they also doing outside of the law.im really afraid that last min of JL,superman will be the one who finish the job without need anyone help.

Why not ?

Batman's been DC's most successful big screen character since 1989 - but maybe he needs to share the spotlight.

While I loved Man of Steel, let's face it, we haven't had a film that makes Superman DC's most likeable hero since 1988.

So, if WW can follow up this great solo outing with a strong showing in JL, then why not indeed ?

I always doubted GG's ability to carry the film, but I think she was the best thing about it - she's likeable, and badass at the same time, why not get behind that ? DCEU Batman is an easily manipulated psychopath and Superman went from serious to downright mopey.

WW has been a breath of fresh air, even in B v S.

To be honest, if WW delivers good, enjoyable films and is a hero we can cheer for then why can't she lead the way for the DCEU - hell it's the 21st century.

Why does there need to be a lead character? One thing I dislike about the MCU is how much Iron Man is shoved down our throats. I've gone form liking that character to hating him. I hate the fact that Marvel's biggest character Spider-Man has basically been turned into a protege for Stark. DC don't want to fall into that trap.

no.

in fact I am wondering if Wonder Woman even has any potential in the DCEU outside of Justice League or her own solo films.

She's the first real home run that the DCEU has had, so I think it's inevitable barring any sort of Batman-related success.

If you mean can she be the in-universe leader of the JL, yes. If you mean can she be the face of the DCEU in terms of marketing and the audience, no. That is and always will be Batman.

Also, like others have said, the face of the MCU is Iron Man, not Cap.

Hm, hard to say.
I would say no...the fan in me is all for the Trinity to be front and center.
But considering that at the moment, Wonder Woman is the most successful DCEU movie, it would make sense to center everything around her.

But if anything, i think Batman will be the center of it...he is batman afterall.
I dont see why there "needs" to be one lead character to pull the DCEU, just because Marvel has Iron Man, doesnt mean that the DCEU needs to have the same approach.

Well she would surely be a big part of the marketing now, since the general public love both WW and Gal.

Batman might be popular because of his character rather than the actor playing him. WW would be popular because of both her character and the actress.

I think Superman would probably fall below the other two now in terms of popularity, both for the character and the actor. Had Superman been a more optimistic and traditional Superman, or if it were Christopher Reeve, then things would be different. But the public don't seem as enamoured by this Superman. He really needs to do something both as a character and an actor to win fans.
